its getting the roll protectors installed on it to help make it last longer, also not running it untill i get the cement tape to strengthen it

its weird i dont really even care for vw's or bugs, id never drive one, unless twas a freebie. buuuuuuut i friking love em on rc's
they look cool af on crawlers monster trucks i bet ( can't remember seeing one but bet its basass) and sct's i love em lol

I feel that way about a bunch of real cars. Most jeep Gladiators are ugly in person but just look killer as an rc. The new Electric Hummer is another one. There is one here in town that looks terrible but the new rc from FMS looks great. Lets face it RC makes everything better.

Got the new connection soldered onto her and tried one of those batteries recomended by @Greywolf74 ......
NOICE! They fit perfectly and are sooooo much stronger than what I'd been running in her
My servo locked up on me randomly earlier.
i didnt habe much time.to run but it definitely locked up and wouldnt turn
could very well have been a rock.
I'm gonna look closer after this boring wedding lol

Glad you like the batteries. Those are some of the better ones on the market that are budget lipos.

Quick question, what size and style of soldering tip are you using? Also, what is your soldering station/iron?

i was using the wrong tip. once i switched to the smaller point rather than the wedge it worked as it should and did last time. i dont remember swapping tips. i have cheapest soldering stuff possible. I'm poor dont judge me lol. i dont expect expert results, but I'm able to get a satisfactory solder with it (when i have the right effing tip lol )

@majin make some time to practice soldering. Snip some different guage wires and practice, they all solder just a little different, but the same if that makes sense. When I first started soldering it was horrible. Now I am to the point it's at least not embarassing. Seriously, get some practice in, then next time you NEED to solder something, it will be a smoother process.

My dad always used it on bigger stuff too. He was like a pro at electronicals.

I thought if I used the larger tip it would work better. Incorrect as the smaller tips help to concentrate the heat where I need it

No judgement here bro, just looking to see if I can give ya some pointers. The iron is fine if it goes up to at least 400C.

You're using 63/37 solder, which is ideal.

As for the tips, you always want to use the biggest chisel tip possible when doing large gauge wire like 10 & 12 AWG. The bigger the tip the more heat you can put on target faster and that is the whole name of the game when soldering. Put heat on it AFAP and get back off of it! The larger tips also retain heat better or have better "thermal rebound" which is what you want. Basically, always use the biggest tip that will fit in/on the work area. The only time I use smaller cone type tips is for circuit boards or small wire that doesn't need as much heat. If it's small wire, You might want to turn the temp down to 325C or so as well. For most RC applications like wire and connectors, I use a Hakko T19-D65 Chisel Tip which is 6.5mm wide. I talked @WickedFog in to try that same tip, and now that's also what he mainly uses now.

And more powerful than the others o have so I got a nice little boost haven't been able to get out andnrip thru both packs yet but I've managed a few rips around the yard still tho
Hopefully this weekend we can burn thru both packs
