I can see what it is and how it works....just not sure what exactly I would do with it....
Ok I can see at what degree in the stroke each port opens and closes.... how does that help me? Is cool though

I suppose if your into modding motors this would be handy. I saw somewhere about making custom tuned pipes. some sort of program that you input all your port timing info and it calculates the best dimension pipe for your application and you can print out templates to cut out of sheet metal and make a pipe.. I don't know the link off hand. I may have saved it in my bookmarks...

here it is

Yes I'm learning how to mod engines, and port timing is where a lot of the power is made..
Like adjusting the induction port on your crank, having it close 5 -10 degrees later (stay open longer) can make a big difference. I have a very steady hand with a Dremel and not afraid to take it to an engine sleeve or crank...lol it's a tool so I can map out an engine and keep track of changes I make to the Internals Some will be good and some very bad lol..
Only way I'll learn. Just thought I'd share my build :)

Well I did understand that part of it, I am pretty handy with a dremel as well . I would start with an engine I did not care about first. I would need a drill press to ream the crank though.

I have did mods to 5 different engines I have, brands hpi, traxxas, picco, dynamite..
All have turned out great and I'm happy how they perform and run..
An aspect of RC's I think is pretty cool :)

I have messed around with it but only had so/so luck with it. But then again I was not boring the crank out or changing port timing any either and that is where the power is made at.
