The new LOSI MINI-B 1/16 scale is pretty cool. It’s cute, adorable and has the potential to be bigger than the performance level of it’s scale.
I didn’t see the thread here so I’ll go ahead and start it up. I just received it today. Already there’s a Facebook Group for it. LOSI MINI-B. The LOSI MINI-T 2.0 parts pretty much transfer over. However, this buggy chassis is a little bit longer.

Let’s get things started. I’m sure people will be asking about upgrades and custom options.

In the pics below, you can see some size comparisons;
Vs REFLEX 14B, DB MINI 8ight, and 1/10 LOSI DB PROs

Nov 22nd. After 4 hours of wrenching, I was able to fit most of the aluminum upgrades on. There’s still much more I want to do. Probably in December, I will go Brushless on one of the MINI-Bs. I also want to add MIP CVD outdrives in the rear.

This car is difficult to work on due to the small size of the lug nuts and ball joints. 1.5 hex driver works all around for the screws so that’s a plus.

Here are some new pics. Upgraded on the left, stock on the right, plus some close-ups.

Watched all the youtube videos on these. I want one!!! But I already ordered a WLTOYS 14401 so will hold off on this until I know they're actually racing them. Seems TA needs to come out with a 1/16 buggy to complete with this. Not sure what all cars would be in this class if they opened one at a local track.

I like how the motor/trans is in front of the rear wheels vs behind. Gives it a less wheelie prone balance, or at least less likely to smash the motor in a cartwheel crash. One of the nice things I liked when I converted my nitro jato to brushless.

Anyone tried upping the pinion? I'm looking for 0.5M 19-21T pinion set....not super common :(

Obviously the car in the FB link is brushless and the video is awesome! Wonder how he got it to handle that well? Ours is a bit squirrely.

I belted out this one a few weeks ago.

Can someone help or offer advise ? Had my mini b awhile now and use it often great car untill I started having a problem. Goes about 5 ft and dies ..still has power but unresponsive. Once I get within 2 feet it works again. Replaced batteries in transmitter..checked for any lose connections..rebinded it ...still no fix yet.. anyone else have this problem or ideas on how to fix

Are you using the stock radio that came with the MINI-B? If so, get rid of that. Get yourself a better receiver and a better radio. Spektrum DX5C is a solid radio.

If it starts working again as soon as you get closer to it then it sounds like the antenna on the RX may have been damaged. My best guess anyway

I bought a Mini-T 2.0 for myself and I bought a mini-B for the wife. I'm normally not a mini guy but they seem pretty cool so far. Only upgrades I've bought so far is an open spur cover, extra set of wheels and tires, upgraded Savox steering servos, and an adjustable motor mounting plate from Hot Racing.

How has this car been holding up for you guys in the long term?? Durable or money pit?

Anyone just running them stock, and. What kind of speeds outta the box??

Looks like a cool car, and I like the price point

Thanks, -matt

I got a stock mini-b in December, still fully stock except a zip-tie around the servo saver. I've probably put 10-15 packs through it in the last month. I drive it around the neighborhood as a zippy little basher all the time, and it's always fun. I've driven it on plenty of terrain it doesn't like (grass, hiking trail, etc) and while it obviously doesn't do great there, nothing has burned out or broken. My wife and I are both using it to practice our driving skills, and we have both driven it very rough at times -- face first into a concrete bumper at full speed kind of rough. Worst that has ever happened is one of the steering rods popped out of its socket. I pushed it back in and kept driving it with no issue. The handling is what really sets this apart as a RWD racer against the standard 4x4 basher at that price-point. Even though you may have similar speed, the mini-b's ability to cut corners makes it feel a lot tighter and more fun to drive.

tldr; mine is box stock, very little time on maintenance (just cleaning, no repairs), nothing broken. Fun car, good value.

Thanks, good to hear your getting a lot of use and that it’s been a durable buggy for you.
It’s a great car for the price, I was afraid we would outgrow it to quickly and it would sit, or would end up sinking extra money into upgrading it.
I opted for the mini b pro roller and need to make a few small adjustments before it’s ready to drive.
The bad news is we had planned to go to the indoor track this Saturday, but they are forecasting snow all day, so we may have to wait

Thanks again
