Wish they raced anything near me. Really wish that Apex (Murfresburo (Spelled wrong) TN) would open up a Mini track so that I don't have to dump money into a TC that I'll never be able to use unless I'm at the track. I just gotta visit Apex and start yelling at them to build a mini offroad track, or maybe ask nicely.
I definitely feel fortunate I have access to some good tracks. It's not super close but clearly I spend some time there so it's close enough. If you talk to them maybe see if you can post a flyer for a racing club, if there is enough interest....10 guys asking for a new track might go better

New shocks and springs this car desperately needs are out for delivery!!! I won't get do anything with them till sometime much later, but they weren't supposed to get here till Monday so....
Got a 10 hour shift I gotta start soon...knowing me I will find time to get them on there, even if it's at 3am so I can run in style at the track tomorrow.

Big surprise to everyone by now I am sure......they will be green! Lol

They are indeed green....and showed up with free stickers!!

I made it almost a third of a lap before getting mauled by a 1/10 scale car....and so it beginsView attachment 259032
Yea that's why I usually just use mine as a practice car between heats during my race day. Wish some tracks can do just a full day for minis that would be fun. For the ones that have lots of minis.

How do you like those shocks? They look like your run of the mill amazon/Chinese stuff. Do they hold fluid without atrocious leakage?
If you ever break them down and do a rebuild, you should post up the pictures and let's see what innards they be workin' wit.

The are rcawd shocks. Quality control was not perfect that day. The bottom cup on 1 was loose and leaked oil inside the package ruining some of my free stickers. Once they are tight I have seen no signs of leaking, they feel smooth and have plenty of adjustment options. Internals also had 1 with an eclip that was not on and needed to be properly assembled inside. The limited time I was able to drive today I am confident I will be able to dial them in to a good place. Unfortunately the crash caused damage further in than I thought. I also need to replace the bell/crank steering assembly. Basically killed my minib driving today. Spent the rest of my time there getting the sr27 dialed in on the carpet oval

Yesterday's damage was by far the worst, but certainly not the first time a larger car has been an issue. I don't think yesterday's crash was intentional....I do think the larger faster cars have a too much car, not enough driver issue a lot of the time. .....
I could be wrong but if you went through the mini b instead of around ....then maybe....

The mail is never reliable. They have already come, my steering parts say they are coming today...I do not believe. So I glued the broken part and reassembled the car. Everything seems good. Gonna head down there and bring a backup with me in case everything goes to s$@%@^....again.

Today was a better day at the track for sure. My glue job on the steering only held out for about 4 laps....no one is surprised. In that 4 Laps I got to see how it corners/jumps with the new suspension. Still some work tuning to do but I think it's gonna be good. Unknown driver for the win...it also looks like my transponder is working. Spent the rest of the time using the c10 to run down batteries so I don't get stuck discharging them the boring way.
Turns out my lack of faith in the usps was not justified...new steering parts on the stairs when I got home.

New steering bits are in.

Unfortunately my glue and washer reinforcement did not hold either. I have no plan to give in and let Saturday become the day I spent 50 bucks to run almost 3 nonconsecutive laps.

Fix #2..... when the rat rod starts to emerge by default instead of design....you don't have to say it...I'm already disappointed in myself enough for not having any chrome zip ties on hand.

If you put a sticker on it, it would be stronger AND you'll go faster! 😉👍🤣
