I have had a mini b for a while now. I got the brushed rtr and have just been driving and making suspension tweaks here and there.

At this point it handles amazing. I brought to the lhs with a carpet track today. Same as usual, full throttle 90% of the time with no issues, and a wish for an extra 1/2 a mph to hit 1 jump slightly better. Today I came home, and the Amazon special brushless conversion kit was in the mailbox. Got it all installed in short order.

I did bring it outside and run it in the road in front of my place after. Using a fairly run down battery cause I don't wanna charge 1 up and have it sitting. It's quick but not the night and day transformation I was expecting. Tomorrow I will give it another run with a full charge, and maybe even get some top speed numbers. I never did check the top speed on the bone stock set up, anyone have that?? I feel like some youtube reviewer has mentioned 16 mph at 1 point. That doesn't seem unrealistic.

On a brushed mini b top speed with stock gearing is prob about 14 or 15 mph. If I remember. Been so long since I had my mini b being brushed lol. Brushless should waken it up a bit more. But 4800kv isn't that much so it's probably comparable to the brushed with higher gearing. If you want some speed, look into motors that are 6000kv plus. I have the spektrum 2in1 in mine currently. Used to have a surpass hobbies 6100kv setup in mine for racing a couple years ago. Speedo had boost and turbo timing preset in the speedo and it was FAST. Even on stock gearing, which I still run to this day.

Used to have/run the now discontinued Dynamite 2in1 6k kv, which is basically the same as the newer revised spektrum but the dynamite felt way smoother, like it was sensored, but it wasn't.

Yea when I bring my mini b to the track these days just as a practice car to run between rounds (since absolutely no one has interest in running minis near me locally anymore) with the 6k kv 2in1 I usually have my throttle epa down atleast to 60-75 percent to get a "grip" of it.

Let us know how it runs. I have a mini-t I have been thinking of converting, interested to see how yours turns out.

Never mind, you posted results as I posted the questions. Sounds like a runner now.

66 minutes later....neither program card works, but a fresh battery sure made a difference...View attachment 257984
Probably not accurate top speed...but good enough for in the dark.
Ah nice. Should test mine out. 26mph on 4800kv is pretty good. Still running stock gearing or?

Soldering on some deans connectors this morning making sure I can maximize my driving tome tomorrow.

And because I may not be the only 1 who enjoys a well made solder blob.....

I have bought a few cars over the years where they need someone who has seen a soldering iron before on the assembly line ...

I have been running this on my dumborc remote, which does a good job. As I get closer to actually racing this car it is becoming increasingly more important to have steering and throttle preset in an upgraded model instead of fiddling with knobs for every different car....

The better dumborc transmitter that let's me use all my existing receivers in my collection. The old transmitter will become a dedicated remote for my drag car project.

NIce MiniB build you've got going here. I hope TLR makes a new version based off the 22X instead of the 22 5.0
Thank you!! I am actually really disappointed they discontinued this version. This is becoming one of my favorites in a real hurry. I would take another in a minute. My lhs still has some left in stock....so maybe I will give them some more $$ sometime in the future.

Or 1 of these days I will have access to post here in the classifieds section....maybe I will make deal for another that way.

What a day....too many changes for me. I have the new speed and power of the bl system I put in. The new controller with digital adjustments for everything....with almost no operators manual. And they changed the track layout to the most challenging format I have seen yet.
New power required new rear tires to stay in line on the turns.

These worked amazing!! Massive difference in power delivery, I assume the stock ones were spinning under hard throttle.
So much more power...I broke the steering knuckle...

The screws for the rear axle carrier on the right back out enough for it to drop, and it threw a dogbone as soon it happened. I spent probably 20 minutes searching the track....but no. I bought replacements, and found my old 1 about 20 minutes after that.
Learned a lot about this little car today, probably gonna learn some more on Saturday.
