Just wondering, is this a fun truck to buy? I'm thinking of getting one since they are cheap and it'll keep me occupied once the rainy season starts here in Florida (trust me once it gets going it'll be wet for days after a rain) and depending on how fast it goes I can take it outside too.

Judging from the low low price of only 60 bucks, it'll be pretty cheap to maintain as well.

Also, if I DO get one, what else will I have to buy along with it? (chargers, servos, etc)

Oh, and didn't know if this went in the 1/18 forum or not :) Probably will get more hits here anyways.

its amazing. i got the dt.
all i did were ball bearings and lipo. huge difference

How much does a LiPo/brushless setup cost for it? And, how fast does it go stock out of the box? I think I'm definitely going to get one when I can afford it :D

Hmm... *scratches chin* ... I called my LHS and they say that it'll go about 12 mph out of the box. They also said the battery lasts only about 5 minutes (which isn't too bad considering the size)

But what got me is that they sell it for $90. I don't want to pay that much when I saw it elsewhere for only 60!

EDIT: despite what they said, the Youtube videos are insane. I'm set on getting one now. I just wish the grass would grow faster during winter (I cut grass for 20 bucks per yard)

I'm going to keep it stock. It's just going to be my expensive toy for when it's raining (and I suppose when we go somewhere that won't allow for my Maxx like an airport).

It'll just be something to putter around with and take it off small jumps to see what it'll do.

Lol, from what I've seen in the videos, if it goes much faster than stock, mom won't allow it in the house lol.

Does your LHS change prices if you can find something cheaper? Mine does. You should ask them. I saved $40 on my starter box doing this.

Good idea. I'll remember that when I go there. I'm pretty sure they will seeing as it's a great LHS. My overall experience there has been great, there's always something on sale (got my Maxx for 320 w/o taxes) .

I think they also send out periodic sale papers. I remember in the last one they sent there was a micro t for 50 bucks.

I want a Micro T now! Haha I want an indoor monster car that's small. I'll try to save up for one. Where did you see it for $60?

I see some on Ebay for 50 bucks. I'm probably going to buy one of those since it's not exactly going to be expensive to fix if say one of the steering rods is broken.

buy it from talonone. he is really trustworthy.. send him a pm.. he may still have it

Oh, man, I drove one of these things at the Hobby Shop today. It was a lot of fun even though the floor was too slick to let it get traction. I'm definitely buying one of these now. The Ripstick can wait lol
