I personally think the terain you showed us in the pics out in the desert would be just fine for any of the 2.2 crawlers, but if you are only going to go out there once in a while then save the money for now and get the RTC, Of course you know that creek bed could always have some larger rock added to it to make it more fun for what ever crawler you choose. As far as the RTC goes here is a link to some of the simple modes thet Bender from Axial did to one to make it more capable--> http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=175613

Ahhhh, I love it! I thought I had my mind made up. Now I am not so sure. I guess we need to re-think all this??? I am going to CKRC and look at all the options again...

BTW--All the landscape pictures I have posted here are of my own photography. What do you guys think? Here is one I am particularly proud of:

In the background you can see a "malpie". It is a lava flow.

+ no tq twist but.... no free wheels sucks. :\

yeah it does suck, to bad its not just a matter of flipping around a gear or something and change it to just rear dig with free wheel....

Well you know who to PM first!

lol for sure.

its not something to worry about especially since you havent had dig with free wheel. the axial dig setups like the DNA dig for example, have 4wd, dig, and free wheel where the rear just spins freely making it pull itself, and very easily. the losi wont, but it will still pull itself if the front will hook up so its not a real bad thing. its just nice to have though....again, its not a berg lol, i have front and rear dig and basically free wheel too...

OK, after talking things over with my advisor again I am going Losi!!!

The plan is to get a 45T motor and a not-too-expensive servo and use the Airtronics radio gear in my RC10GT to get started. Then, if I fall in love, I can add the mini servo for the dig and get a better radio (ie three channel).

That is my final answer! Curtis, you are right. I have waited for the Losi to come out, so time to put up or shut up. Now I just gotta get the funds together. Work has been REAL slow.

OK, is that something I need to worry about?
I think you will be happier with a 35 turn or even a 30 turn.

alot of guys are liking it with a brushless setup too arent they?

what do you guys think of a sidewinder esc, 45 turn motor, use a traxxas receiver and a tq3 controller, a 208 oz steering servo, 208 oz dig servo- all this will cost 155 $ --sidewinder-100$ ----motor-20 ----2-208 oz servo-25.00 -----reciever 10$ all off ebay
and i already have tq3 controller

u can get tq3's modded with a 3 pos switch from ckrc for cheap.

the last few days i've been bugging people on here and other forums on what is good and not good. I will also be running 3s lipo's however much those cost with a charger. If you want one of those servos here is a link, they are actually 30 dollars shipped now http://cgi.ebay.com/2-x-MG996R-Metal-Gear-Digital-Torque-Servo-2BB-MG995-RC_W0QQitemZ390047887357QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPCC_Drives_Storage_Internal?hash=item5ad0aa6ffd&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262&_trkparms=|301:0|293:1|294:30

that is for 2 servos

yeah the towerpro servo's are really a good buy, sure they will prolly end up burning up, I've had a few go out but for the price you can't beet them. and 208oz isnt a bad way to start.

i am not sure if i should go with a brand name lipo battery or a generic like i'm going to do with the servo's
