As everyone else I'm looking for an amp and a couple of tens to put under my tuck seat (not enough room in behind the seat) but right now I'm looking just for a 2 ch amp at about 1000 watts

Looking at this amp

Ebay amp

Not really going for good looks cuz if you saw the truck you would know what I'm talking about

but i am going for good sound

i was thinking about 2 tens and building 2 sepreate boxes to put under the bench seat of my truck one on the passenger side and one on the drivers side

tell me what youll think

What kind of truck is it? 10's wouldnt fit under my 97 GMC seats OR my s-10 seats. I'm gonna guess your gonna have to put them behind your seat. 10's should fit. For a while I had 4 10s behind my seat in my s-10 and right now I have 2 10's behind my truck seat. Also Not to diss, but a amp is going to be your key part of any system. So with that your gonna want to get a name brand. Dont be fooled by cheasy companies throwing alot of watts at ya either. Different companies rate at different wattages. (Linear isnt. Honestly I would say that amp puts out a TRUE 200 watts.) Get a rockford, Alpine, Pioneer, kenwood.. Something along them lines if ya just want a good sounding system.

Its an 87 chevy K20

but yeah i was just looking for something cheap with an ok sound wasn't really looking to drop big bucks into the amp but now that i think about it i should just cuz when i get my car i can transplat my system to the car with a few mods of course

and the reason why i dont want to put them behind my seat is cuz i have alot of stuff that i carry around with me that i need and can't put in the bed or the truck box one cuz the truck box doesn't lock and 2 cuz i have a flat bed

so yeah ill looking into the name brands

but i was just dont a quick look on ebay to see what i would spend there rather then the stores.

thanks 4u2nv

I just went through the search for a good amp at a great price. There are a lot of used ones out there to choose from. The more I searched the more I found. Seems like each one was better then the las for a better price. If your not in a hurry your options are great.

You can get some real good sound from a decent amp and less then great speakers. If the power is good, the sound will be good. I ended up getting my amps from www.craigslist.com I'm not sure if they have it in your city but its worth looking into.

Do yourself a favor and save up a little extra cash for a half decent amp, even a sony or pioneer is better than the junk like you posted. If you go with something like that it is going to be very distorted and you will most likely be unhappy with your results.

I have a rockford amp and a kicker L7 in my car now and the rockford amp was pretty cheap I think about $180 on ebay new for 700-900watts at 1 channel @ 4ohms (can't remember exactly how many watts) and it sounds great.. rockford is not what is used to be but will still blow a pyramid or boss out of the water anyday :)
