Any ideas? I need a small block, rear exhaust, non-pull, SG crank, slide carb engine. preferably 15 or 18. OS has the 18TZ and maybe the TM will work too but thats all I can find. Surely there's more engines out there like that.....

No, no ROAR events, just racing with friends on a track. There doesn't seem to be any ROAR events anywhere within 150 miles of here and I'm not good enough for a real race anyway. I'll get the TZ if I have to but thats probably more engine than I can handle and the TM is just too expensive. I only paid 100 bux for the car and I don't want to spend more than twice that for a mill.

Whats your budget?

RB V15 would make a good outlaw engine.

I dont know if a .18 will fit...

dont go for a 18 engine. probly wont fit right.1:10 cars are made for 12 / 15 engines but 15 has les hp and power then a good 12 engine.

i got the tz 12 3port 1,55hp. and oh my god. that thing rocks.
on this forum you wont find much info about them. try www.rctech.net
there are like 50 pages of info on them. all say this engine is crazy and as fast as a novarossi.

the 3 port has crazy torque. great for a smal / med track
if ya want more top speed then try the 5port that one has 1,62 hp. dyno test shows the peak near 1,8 hp.

i just broke in my engine. have to say. its amazing.
i got a g4 mongoose car on foams and it just pulss away freakin hard.
all i can say is 'that iam very happy with this engine. easy to tune and holds it very wel. cost is low and the power en performance just like the italian made engines.

just make sure you break in the engine the right way and use a hairdryer to warm it up. otherwise you wont be able to turn over the flywheel on the starterbox.
oh yeah. engine starts very fast.

need info. just ask

Well, I got a $25 coupon from Tower today so I got the 18TZ. I know it will fit cause thats what was in it before I bought it. The 12's were more expensive so since I'm cheap, I went with the 18. It should be way over powered now which is kinda the point of R/C anyway...:) :)

Your gonna rip the drivetrain apart. Belts, Diffs, etc.
Sounds like fun though.
Yes you will be over powered.

Should have went with the RB V15. Raced against one on the track with my Mugen X12. Got smoked on the straightaway at full throttle. Definitely fast.

How do you like the .18TZ? I run an MTX3 prospec...I think it can handle the .18TZ just fine.

Should be getting it in a day or two and should be racing it this weekend. Can't wait!!

Welp, Got it broken in and OMG! this thing is stupid fast. Still tuning it for power but it's already a screamer. The MTX3 has a front one way so all I have is rear brakes. Thats going to take some getting used to. All I've ever had were normal 4WD cars and I'm used to good brakes. This thing just swaps ends when I get on the binders.

Turn down you brake pressure with the screw on the brake linkage to where it barely locks up the brakes.

With a oneway, especially on atouring car, you power through the turns so the car will stay on course. The front wheels will pull the car in the direction you need to go. Basically essential for a racer. Time your turns and most of all, learn throttle control. It's not mash and brake, it's all abot modulating that trigger finger. The problem lies 3 feet above your ass and about 7 inches in front of you. LOL
