I just bought this Laegendary Grando for a good deal. It doesn’t come with a remote, and so far I’ve not been able to find the right one.

I came across this one that’s supposed to run it, but it doesn’t have enough channels to run the lights and winch. I figure I should prolly just put a new receiver in so I can choose what remote I want. I have a few other RC’s but never changed out anything electrical on any of them, so I need some help to figure out how to do it. Am I good to just pick up a decent transmitter and receiver set on eBay, or is there specific things I need to watch for? I want something good, but I don’t want to spend a whole lot for it.

what's your budget like?
> sub $100: flysky gt5 as suggested above
> between $100 and $150: radiomaster mt12 - extensively customizable and compatible with receivers from many other vendors, but can be very difficult to set up (at least that's the general consensus)
> $200 or a little above: flysky g11p - not as customizable as the mt12 but is more beginner friendly

You should be able to run just about any rx/tx combi you want as long as there is room for the rx in the vehicle. Not familiar with this vehicle, I am assuming you have std 3 wire servo plugs etc.
I run 1 of these. https://ebay.io/m/fxfF2iIt's cheap, has good range, and lots of adjustment options for 10 channels. Also let's you bind 10 models to the same remote so you can just by rx units and use the same controller. Just in case this isnt/won't be your only 1.....

Thank you all for your help. I’ve not completely made up my mind yet but I’ll prolly go with this one.

I think I’m gonna need to get an esc too, since it has a 2-in-1 receiver/esc. Any of you have any suggestions on what esc I should use? Like I said before this is my first time doing anything with electronics on RCs so I’m not that bright about it yet.
