Its ART man! Well, ok I'll conceed it in the eye of the beholder. 4 coats of liquid squid on the inside and some artwork sketching on the outside protective film. Took me awhile to sketch, erase, and resketch to get it to where I liked it. Will start cutting and blowing some colors Friday night. I'm thinking white front and rear, with some purple/orange flip-flop in the middle. This is the new lid for my factory TC4 conversion. What do you guys think of the art so far?.............

Looking good Silent! I have not started on my TC4 body yet but I will be taking my time and doing it up right! With the Dively's of course!

SpazStiks color-change

Heres the finished job. I screwed it up a little bit, but now you can see where I was going with the color patterns. The dark color in the middle, hood, and roof is SpazStiks color-change tan/purple/teal and will probably be the last time I use it. The effect is neat, but it takes about 7-9 coats of it (used the entire 1oz bottle), followed by 2 coats of gloss back backer. The paint edge was so thick I had to re-exacto the mask to get it up. Its virtually like spraying a clear-coat. You can hardly see any color at all till about the third coat, and after several, its still pretty transparent. You can only see the effect good after applying the backer. Anyway, heres the concept art completed........

I say I screwed it up because I forgot to highlight in the florescent orange and yellow. After I had the white on it, I looked at it and I was like sh*t!! So I laborously took a small screwdriver edge and scraped back off the white where the orange/yellow belonged and sprayed it in. haha, just glad it was my own and not a buddies.......................

Thanks. I really only have time for my teammates bodies.

I'm the Painter and Shade guy (ez-up)
One guy is the Generator/Power
And the other is the Air-compressor and Team T-shirts guy

Teammates are a wonderful thing!!

Its really not that hard to do, and very enjoyable (for me). Just time-consuming. This one took me about 8 hours. (was in no rush)

Man iv seen lots of ppl on this site with a talent in painting bodies and your one of them up on thelist. I jsut have to ask how do u guys do such great work, when i did my first body it turned out like sh*t. Do you guys jsut use tape or the glue stuff that u can paint on and the peel off. Man id love to get into painting bodies looks and sounds like tons of fun.

The "glue stuff" I use is the Bob Dively's Liquid Mask. Check out the Tutorial here in the Body Shop or Tips section how to use it. Just be sure to brush on at least 4 thin coats and letting them dry in between so it will peel nicely. Its addicting stuff once you figure it out. My advice would be to copy a cool design from a magazine or the internet so you can focus on the technical aspects of the mask. You can find it at your LHS or on ebay. Give it a shot!

Hey i jsut was lookin at tower and saw all their tape and the glue stuff and all i would really like to buy a air brush, and compressor, and all so do u know of any good brands. Sorry to take ofver ur thread not trying to be an ass jsut didnt want to start my own and waste space.

Hey thats the one i was lookin at gettin, i tought u had to buy one of those special compressors that only had a psi of like 35 -40, so i can go buy one from home depto that i can use for the air brush and like a nail gun? nice
