My boys want to race their new 2wd slash trucks with brushed motors in the kids class at the indoor track. I am shopping for 2s LiPo's but I don't know what mah rating I would need. Is 5000 mah enough?

Also, can anyone suggest a good source with decent prices? It seems that a lot of online stores have them on backorder and the prices seem to vary greatly. I am shopping for 4 packs.

I know that a brushless motor and new tires , shock springs/oil will be needed but for now I need help with the batteries.

Think of mAh rating on a battery is like the size of a gas tank in your car. The higher the mAh rating the longer your run times you'll get. It also means the battery typically will be more expensive.

5,000mAh will certainly be enough and should give you a decent run time on your son's Slash as well.

Thanks for the information. Apparently there is a global demand for 2s lipo's with traxxas connectors (reasonably priced and not on back order) because they are scarcer than hen's teeth!:D

hamz, that venom sure looks nice but it is unfortunately out of my price range for a single battery. I am shopping for 4 batteries and a decent high watt charger. I have the charger picked out, I'm just waiting to find a good deal on the batteries.

I run these in my Slash, I'm only bashing but I push them pretty hard. Good price and fast shipping.

Venom makes a battery in the range you're looking for with a universal connector that has Traxxas connector adapters included (as well as Dean's, Tamiya and a few others). I use one on my VTA car.

Here's a higher C rated version of the one I Use:

Damn those are expensive!
