I got it all fitted up. Thanks to @Doom! for the name! @TheMightyCucumber!
I messed up and tinted the windows, which got the tint overspray on the fluorescent yellow and made the car look like one color. I should have backed it up with white. Oh well, I scraped off as much as I could, luckily I had goober’d the body with some flex seal brand clear and the tint was easy to scrub off while still wet. Anyway, we ran this little thing and wow it is fun! I love mini scale as much as 1/5 scale!

Its still going to look great @ 50mph! Plus now you have a stunt body AND you learned the same hard lesson I and I'm sure lots of other ppl have about backing light colors and painting lexan in order of "darkest to lightest colors".
I like these kits.
I can't wait to hear more about your long-term experience with it!

After taking a poll about what colors to paint this thing, which ended up with the yellow/black/green winning the votes, I decided to get another to paint a grey/black/orange. I masked it and drew out some graphics on it, keeping this one simple.

I have had it for a few years now, I have really enjoyed it. I feel like the Truggy is going to be the final revision on this one. I may have to get another to use the rally, sct, and baja bug bodies on. Maybe I need 2 more!
Check out there m/t body I just got and painted for my sons hypergo. It’s a perfect fit and obviously a ford raptor!
He did all the stickers and picked the colors. I just laid out the stripes with his approval.

The truck looks great like that!
It reminds me of maybe Datsun or Toyota pick up striping from earlier days.
Its similar to optima mid striping too. And I love those kits so yay!!! 😎
These LC's def look like THE mini buggy to own right now!
Can't wait to see the new body done up!!!

Here is a visual representation of the difference in lcracing chassis lengths. You can see the Truggy/lc12b1 is about an entire wheels length longer than the 1/14 m/t, rally, etc.

Sweet looking truck though for sure, it definitely makes me want a few more of these so I don’t have to swap bodies and mounts!

When I read about differences in chassis length, ppl said its about 1".
Seeing the smaller body laid on the larger chassis really points out how big a difference there is!
Thanks for that!
I can totally see why you'd want more than 1! 👍🏻

The difference between the buggy and truggy/SCT wheelbases is 40 mm (225 mm vs. 185 mm). That’s a bit over 1.5”, and on these small-scale vehicles it shows. Adding 40 mm to 185 mm is an increase of almost 22 %.

says the guy who just posted a really good paint job🤣
Oh no, the shark mouth is a sticker! 😆
I started with the rattle cans like everyone else, and I was also mediocre at best. I think I have just learned how the paint is going to react.
Just gotta keep practicing. I think the hardest part for me is deciding on colors and laying out graphics.

I think I was trying to be too fancy with my paint idea so i’ll tape off this time

I am considering taking all of these red anodized parts and getting them anodized some other color, like a gold or bronze. I don’t dig the red at all. Red is just about bottom of the list of color choices for me. I’d rather have purple than red.

You and me both, homie.. 😅 That was on the list of first priorities when a couple EMB-T’s were the plan.. I’ve had extremely good results with the EZ-OFF method.. It’s also documented in one of my build threads if ya end up going that route, or want a refresher.
