First off, I blame Doom! for this little project
So last month I went back and forth on the Redcat or the Axial, and went with the Redcat. Pros and cons with both, as I have already mentioned, but for what I wanted to do the Redcat won. I dont plan to drop a bunch of money into this, so prob wont go much farther than where I'm at now. It is a lot better now than straight out of the box, but I figure this is enough.....or is it
Stock body is kinda ugly...
First up is to ditch the stock boingers and fit some Injora oil filled shocks. And whilst I'm at it, might as well put on the Injora brass c hubs and diff covers. Doom! gave me the idea for a 1/24th scale plastic model kit with his Izuzu Vehicross project. Since I am a Miata guy, what better than a Miata body for this little guy?
I think I have a plan to mount the body that will work. Ordered up a set of the stock body mounting brackets, this way I can swap the Miata body and the stock body without taking anything apart.
Just adding the shocks and a couple brass goodies, it performs much better.
I could not find any brass hex adapters, but I did find these little brass patties on Amazon. Made by LRFHL, and are $16.99
One issue with them though, is that the fronts bound up against the Injora c hubs. I am sure they fit just fine with the plastic stock ones. No worries, I just surfaced the little lip off the inside. Did it the same way I take off material on a Ducati desmo cup style valve shims to make perfect tollerance..its a secret
Easy peasy.
And the front to back weight bias after all this labor intensive work?
I will update with the Miata body mounting as I get to that. Oh, forgot to mention that Mazda did a special edition color in 1991, British racing green. It is also the most collectable Miata (they also did BRG on a special edition 2001 as well, but not near as collectable). So its only proper for me to paint the little bugger BRG

Stay tuned.....
