Kraton 6s telemetry

Hello, I have an older kraton and just installed a new spektrum smart receiver with dx3 transmitter. Also just purchased a new spektrum smart esc, model number

ARA8608V5​

For the telemetry stuff, do you really have to use the spektrum smart batteries if you have a telemetry capable receiver/esc/ and transmitter?

Yes. That's the only way I know of.

Strange though, also have traxxas sledge and able to use all the telemetry functions with just addition of bluetooth module using non traxxas batteries. Correct me if I'm wrong, but telemetry stuff should only interface with smart receiver
