Killed a lipo, need help

Dividing the V/2 lets you estimate cell voltage but you can't know individual voltages.
A lipo alarm with cell readout can be had for like a dollar.

Won't work unless OP has a adapter like I shown above.
Traxxas makes it complicated sadly.

Or just divide the total voltage by 2

Well, my rdx1 mini has a voltage reading function. If I divided the voltage by two we'd get about 3.4v per cell.

At this rate guys, I think I'm going to carefully monitor it while charging up on the rdx1 mini without balance wires. Ill charge it up to minimum then let the traxxas finish it off. I just need to know one more thing: what amperage to charge at? It's a 5800 mah 1c.

I think one amp is good. You must cook it low and slow!

I usually start with 0.1A and monitor the voltages
Then if it's OK maybe I'll up it to 0.5... despite the low current, cell voltage should rise relatively quickly from a deep discharge so no need for strong currents.

That's risky as you don't know what the individual cell voltage is. That's why I been saying get those adapters so we can determine what the cells are at. 6.8v is totally fine for a 2s, unless one cell is below 3.0 and extremely unbalanced from the other. Currently we can't determine that unless you get those adapters bc without them and charging it on the hitec it can potentially overcharge one cell. Charge rate isn't a serious issue here it's more about what the individual cells are at. Thanks Traxxas for making it harder.

I just get mad at Traxxas sometimes because they make it really hard for safety when using it with other non Traxxas electronics.

Oh I see your point now. If it isn't balanced it like could end up overcharging a cell. That would be bad for sure. How long do you think I can leave it like this?

Me personally id wouldn't risk it. Id get those adapters that split off to balance leads so the charger knows what the battery is doing, when you can.

Oh dang I looked everywhere and they are all out of 2s balance leads. Guessing a 3s lead could work but not sure. Id have to do some more research then lol. @WickedFog or @Greywolf74 could probably know

Because without that adapter the charger is basically charging blind and doesn't know what and how many voltage is sending to each cell. Kind of like driving a manual transmission car but not having a rpm gauge.

Do you have a multimeter by chance? You can use a multimeter to check them. Here is a video on how to!
