I have owned the savage 21 that 4u2nv had, and also a monstergt. Never owned a tmaxx, and never will. The gt was similar in construction to the tmaxx and is very nice to work on, but has it's week parts. The Savage on the other hand was totally crazy. I'll be looking for a nice roller savage again soon.

I loved my Maxx. Was a very tough truck. I liked the savage too, and like I said before it looked almost spaced aged looking compared to my maxx, But was a bitch to work on compared to the maxx. Also I just watched a XXX main video and I noticed that 90% of there trucks on there were Tmaxx's. And there doing CRAZY stunts, so that tells ya something there too. I only saw one savage 25 and a couple Mega Forces. But the rest were Maxx's.

I'm not gonna take sides on this issue, but thought I would throw in my two cents worth.

Why did you guys spend loads of cash on your T-Maxxes? Because you had too?....or because you wanted to? More than likely these were your first RC's or first MT's. So what's the first thing we all do when we get into a hobby....spend cash...because we have to?...or because we wanted to?

The .21 conversions were very expensive....necessary?...not really....was the truck designed for a .21?....no.

This comparison A 1/10 scale small block vs. 1/8 scale big block is not really a apples to apples comparison...and IMO has been beat to death.

My personal opinion is that they are both great trucks....loads of fun...have their own +/-'s and both serve the purpose of the hobby.....BURNING NITRO!

Mr T.......My Nick may suggest that I'm an avid T-maxxer...actually I spent about a total of ten seconds coming up with this nick just so I could join the forum.

the t-maxx is not my first monster truck for a nitro i had several this one is the best for me anyway.

Hate is such a strong word... but I wouldn't buy one again.
I said the same thing after I sold my MAXX and bought the Savage SS, Look at my sig. I couldnt stay away. I love both trucks. Does my Savage get more run time? Sure does, but both are fun as hell.

I might buy mini-t or something of the sort. But I doubt I'd every buy an 1/10 scale nitro again. I would kind of like a mini-t just to run around the house with for those rainy weekends...

Olds, I'm with you on the mini-t. I want something to drivein the evening when it's dark and the neighbors want quiet.

For me, it wasn't so much the money I spent on the maxx, it was more just the frustration of not having enough runtime VS work ratio.

I would take the maxx out, break it, work on it for 3 hrs then break it again in 15 minutes. I had to tighten everything every 2 tanks and it just got to be no fun,

My savage I bought used, and I am working on the 4th VERY hard gallon (.21 savage) The rollbar is bent, I replaced a drive shaft (my fault) and an upright from a full throttle curb shot. Total like $12 for the shaft (uprights came with it) so I figure maybe 10 mintues of work to 1-2 hours of use on the savage that's hard to find in this hobby.

I can take out the savage, and count on 1-3 hours of straight bashing with little to no work. That's what the hobby is about, fun, and the savage packs tons of it for me.

Don't get me wrong, the maxx is fine for what it is. The first one to market, very light nice handling, the revo might make up for it.

Original is always the best. If the Maxx wasn't created is it possible that the savage would exist? I mean, the Savage was created to rival and defeat the T-maxx and(this coming from a T-maxx owner) it did. But honestly, when you or anyone else is the first to create something that draws people and their money and so on, there's always gonna be someone else to make it better(or at least try). My t-maxx is great. Yes, I've spent over $1,000 in it, but only 1/4th toward stronger parts. To be honest, if I had to do it all over again, I would still go with the T-maxx. This is only what I think, but feel free to comment on this anyway you like.

I am curious though....will the "Savage vs T-maxx" topic ever end?

thanks for agreeing with me Vincemaxx119 i went out yesterday and ran my t-maxx i had a problem the tube to the pipe got taggle with the spur gear dont know how but got it fixed 2 mins you guys must be ruff on your truck i never broke anything on mine curtis

it looks good never heard much on that truck { how fast is it is it a 2 speed} let us now curtis

i also own both savage and t-maxx. both are good trucks, really depends on the owner and how much they abuse there trucks when they run them. out of the box for me a t-maxx would not last one tank without major damage. thats jsut the truth. for some other people a stock t-maxx will hold up for gallons and give them much joy, but for me the t-maxx out of the box wouldnt cut it. now though it is a much more fun truck, as it is fully upgraded. (upgrading it was half of the fun, in making the t-maxx stronger.) the savage, i only did the main required mods, 4 -spider diffs, monster pirate servo saver, steel disk brakes, and i can drive that thing WOT with my eyes closed and pretty much not worry about breaking it. really you can't ever end this feud, its like chevy and ford i guess. even though i like both of those too lol.

THe savage imo is stronger and could be faster than a maxx. I go bashing alot with vince and some other friends. All of us push all cars to the limits and during those times my savage only busted one... that was a gas tank. I have a some videos of vince's t-maxx breaking... some are cheap repares and others cost alot. The maxx was built for speed and the savage built for everything else.

This thread wasn't about "My T-maxx is better than your savage" this is a totally different topic
It's about a guy who has two maxxes he put a TON of time money and effort into. He's just lost intrest because of the cost, the work, and the frusteration. He's looking for a few who identify

Me, I didn't loose interest because fo any of the above. I was perfectly content putting a ton of time and money into my maxx until I got a savage at a killer deal $200 used and not even broken in.

After I'd says two runs, my maxx did the same it just got less and less run time, and longer in between fixes.. I would rather run my savage at the time then fix the maxx.

Now this hobby I started to not have enough time for has begun to get fun again. I come home, fire it up, run a few tanks a night, and rarely if ever have to stop to fix it.

Would I have done it the same? you bet. The maxx was a great cheap way to get into the sport and learn. Now when the savage breaks I know where to look. I also have the experience not to screw up the savage. Without the maxx I probably would have spent a lot of money on the savage due to being ignorant about nitros.. gear mesh, locktite after run oil.. throttle return spring etc.

Alos.. about the maxx one of the reasons the savage is a better rig for most who start with the maxx...The've gone through the sharp expensive learning curve of a nitro.. being ignorant and a beginnner in the nitro sport cost a lot of parts and money. After 2-3 months with one nitro you know how to drive and maintain to avoid breakage.
So for some the savage doesn't break as much because they've learned to drive and maintain with the maxx...

Gotta love the sport.. I do ;D
