I have learned long ago to do my own research before buying. I will see a fish in the store and go home and research the he!! outta it before making the purchase. I don't even trust the LFS owners anymore.

Yeah... I don't... :ponder2:

But then again, the most I spend on a fish is $5. For me, if it doesn't eat what I give it, it dies, or something else eats it...

Thats harsh man... I guess you arent into marine fish (where there are some over $100 and even some up in the 3-400 range...)

I'm Sorry godale, but I did'nt mean you were an unfit aquarist and I apologize,I do however feel the store person should educate him/her self so to better advise their clientele. Please accept my sincere apology.

Nay no harm done. Don't worry about it. I understand what you were saying. I was having a bad day, my leg was really hurting me, and I was going nuts not being able to do anything. I guess it was affecting my mood. I am the one that should be appolgizing. Take care my friend.

Man that things cool! Have ya noticed him eating yet?? Pretty cool though man. What else ya have in the aquarium? Or is it just him?

Thanks man, I like him, or her... I can't tell the difference! LOL I have not noticed him eating yet... however he is still around and seems very active. Of course, now that I have said something.... LOL

I have a few other fish in there. It is a 55 gallon tank. I have 2 Opal Guaramis (SP?), a pictus catfish, a silver shark, a couple of Tiger Barbs, and a Placastamus. Not to many fish, but enough that the tank looks busy. I will have to pop a pic of the whole tank and post it. Take care my friend.

Dont flounders like sandy substrates so they can bury themselves? Pretty cool man. They can change colors to blend with stuff in a few seconds... Its neat to watch.

So far so good. It is pretty cool watching him change colors. He can do it instantly. Flounders do generally like a sandy bottom so that they can bury themselves, but as long as your substrate is not jagged they are ok. I have a very small round pebbles in mine. I found that sand was a bit difficult to clean and when I did clean it, it tended to clog the filter. We (My fiance and I are looking to go to a 75 gallon tank and I think I will go with a sandy bottom. We would like to turn the 55 gallon into a saltwater tank. Take care my friend.

Hes a lil guy. All the flounder I've seen are like 12-14" long. So when you said flounder i was thinking, breaded and deep fried, or grilled, with a little rice pilaf a cold beer. But that lil guy is too cute to eat.....right now. hehe

So, sandy bottom yet?

Man that sounds good. I could eat a few filets and down a few beers! About 5 years ago the flounder was killer at the mouth of the Patuxant River, and the Chesapeake Bay. We used to bring up door mats, 21 in flounder. Then the commercial fishing increased and all but wiped out the area. You can still catch them every now and again when you are bouncing a minnow but not like the you used to. He is a cute little dude. They are of the same type, but I don't think they grow to more than a couple of inches in captivity. I saw something cool the other day though. It was a freshwater Sting Ray... talk about cool!

No sand yet... thinking about getting a bigger tank and moving them. That one will be all sand. Thinking about turning the old one into a saltwater. Gotta finish the basement though..... those are my orders...

Yeah I hate when I get those. Just once I'd like to "give" orders. Or lists, or Honey-Do stuff... just once. Well, maybe alot, but once would be a good start.

Good luck with the lil guy.!

Yeah, I have pretty much given up on ever giving out orders. In 2 months I can guarantee I will never get to give orders. Once I say "I do" Maybe once the kids are old enough I can give them orders.... but I will probably be to busy with my own orders! Thanks my friend. I hope the little guy makes it too. I will do my best!
