Hey Guys,

I just wanted to give you guys an update on my current situation. I have been walking for just about a week now, slowly, but walking none the less. I am not completely off crutches and am left only with a metal brace for which I will have to wear for the next month and a week. My ten week vacation from work is about to end as well. I start work again on Monday. I am looking forward to it, and I am not looking forward to it all at the same time. Afterall, I have had some fun on my little vacation. I have built a very nice RC, got some flight sim time, gotten re-aquanted with an old friend... the PS2, got to compete with some really fine artists in a lid painting contest, and tied for first place... unbelievable. Most importantly though I got to know alot you guys here at RCNT alot better. That I think was the best part of the time off. I still can't believe it has been almost three months since I was last at work. I am not going to know what to do. I just wanted to thank you guys for allowing me to log on each day, ask a bunch of questions and never once complained. I am also proud of myself for not starting any flame wars... LOL. Now that I am going back to work, I may not be able to be on as much, but I will try to log on every day just to check out the scene, and say hi to all. I will also be getting married in a little over two months! It is cool that I get to make that next step in life and be able to share it with you guys.. my friends. Well I have to run, I bet you guys are tired of reading this novel. Take care and thank you again for all the help and support I recieve here. Hopefully some day I will be able to actually help others with the knowledge I have gained here.

Tom, glad things are coming around for you! Interested in rehabbing with some Muay Thai (Thai Boxing aka kickboxing)? My gym is running a special right now! LOL Seriously though, take it easy and don't over do it, but it sounds like all is well for you. Since you have two months to go before d-day that should give you enough time to recover and RUN LIKE HELL!!:wasted: Good luck with everything!

Thanks man... yeah things are going well. I am healing as planned and I should be good to go come May 11. It still seems funny though. I have spent most of my adult life running away from commitment... I think now that I will turn 30 next summer I will give this commitment thing a shot... Hopefully this will be the one and only time! Take care my friend.

Who are you, Rex Kwon Do? $300.00 for your eight week program?

Be honest, Jet, you own a pair of American flag Zubaz pants, don't you? Yeah, you do...come on, just admit it.

How do you like that, Tom goes back to work Monday, and it'll be my first day unemployed Monday! Ironic?

Glad to hear you are doing well Tom. Since you have been spending time on the flight sim, are you planning on flying any this year?

Long time to be off work. Going to feel funny going back I bet.

What's commitment?? You aren't thinking of doing something drastic are ya?
Are you sure your leg isn't going to be healed up by then? Make a run for it? j/k

Wish you the best, bro.

Glad to hear your getting back on your toes. Youll be back to flashin people in the park in no time..lol.. Take care bro!

Thanks guys,

Yeah it will be strange going back to work after all these weeks. I have stayed in contact with a few buddies at work, they have been keeping me up to date on the goings on so at least it won't be a total shock! I am looking forward to it actually, I have had enough time staring at these walls! LOL I have had no problem keeping myself busy, but being housebound most of the time I am ready to get out there and start flasing people in the park again.... oh and down at the old folks home! LOL J/K

I hope everything is ok MW.... being unemployed sucks. I was once laid off on my birthday, and then again at christmas. I hope everything is ok. If there is anything I can do just let me know.

Hey Dig,

Yeah I would like to get back airborne again just to see if I can still do it. I am still having a bit of a hard time landing in the sim, but I don't know if that is me, or the fact that on this 17" screen is making the plane the size of a pin dot. I loved to fly and would like to get back into it. The AMA still cheap to join?

Take care guys.

Why don't you get someone to pull you into town and I'll have you crying like a baby...(from laughter) Grab my arm! Well with this time you have now you should be able to accelerate through my 8 week program! J/K man, seriously though if you need anything shout.

MW what happened??
this doesn't have anything to do w/ all the shirts you sent out is it???

Yeah MW, Why are you unemployed???? Hope it's nothing serious.

Tom, the AMA is $58 a year.
I'm still up on mine. Not sure about next year.....
Haven't paid club dues for 2 yrs. Haven't flew for 3. Still have a few planes.
Just not been able to get the spark back.

I know what you mean about not having the spark. It is just so hard to find somewhere to fly these days. If you don't belong to a club it is damn near impossible. I have a farm here with pleanty of airspace but no where to land. All of the available flat land is being farmed. Maybe I could set up and land down the dirt driveway, but it is a bit narrow and rough for my liking. We shall see. Thanks for the info Dig. Take care man.

Good to hear you are fully recovered. I like your posting style and hope you continue to post after going back to work. I've learned a lot from the questions you've asked. It's was also very exciting to see and read your truggy build and motor break in.

Take care and good luck!

Thanks SweetDiesel. I am very glad to be back on my feet and getting back in the swing of things. This has been a long 3 months! I am glad my questions, and posts have helped out. I enjoy reading your posts as well. I always worry I ask to many questions and never give enough answers. I am learning every day though, so hopefully the day will come where I won't have as many questions.... Yeah right! I always find something on one of my rigs that baffles the heck out me. I know where to come for the answers though. I promise I will not be a stranger. I will be able to post from work, but just not as much as I would like. I will be on in the evenings though as much as I can. I'm going to miss being off though. The build was a really fun time. I am looking at maybe getting a new buggy at the end of this season, maybe sooner if I can figure out how. :ponder2: I don't think I will be able to convience the then will be wife to allow to spend that kind of scratch on another toy when the CRT will still be new. I am taking suggestions though! Take care my friend, and have a great day.

Tom

godale, you are a well liked member here, and I hope you feel better soon. We will miss you not being around as much as you have.
It's gonna take about a week for you to re-adjust to you job, then things should get back to normal.
As for the wedding, uhhhh.......good luck.
I used to have a life before the wife and kids, now I'm stuck in my friggin basement typing to you.
Well, maybe it will be good for you........HA!

J/K Good luck.

Thanks Ratzo... It is nice to know that once married life kicks in, I have a place to hang out here. LOL It is going to be a change that is for sure. It was nice sitting at home getting paid to build a CRT. My fiance jokes with me all the time about getting more investment savvy so that I could retire earlier and go to work down at the LHS. That would be sweet! Until then it's back to the daily grind fixing peoples computer woes. Thank you again for the kind words and the great help and advice I get here at RCNT. The best part is... I know where to come for some marriage advice! Take care guys.

Hey Ratzo. You know we wouldn't have it any other way. We talk trash on this forum, we can't go out of the yard, and if we are posting about them and they come into the room....

We try to hide it because they wear the pants... we wear the panties... :opps:

I hear ya digger,

The monitor faces the door in the office here, so I am always looking over my back to make sure she is not there when the smack talking starts... It is sad but true... we are at their mercy. LOL
