There are a couple vintage Optima Mids on Ebay for like $6k. I can't figure it out.
80's metal and plastic is way better than today's crapThere are a couple vintage Optima Mids on Ebay for like $6k. I can't figure it out.
I agree but $6k???!!!80's metal and plastic is way better than today's crap![]()
They're just a "little" tall!
If it came with this snorkel kit then maybe.....https://www.etsy.com/listing/4369553531/universal-truck-snorkel-cover-fitsThey're just a "little" tall!
I personally love one of the side photos where it shows they would be good at scale exhaust recirculation.
I was being sarcastic lol. The current re-re Turbo Scorpion chassis variants still have the forged trailing arms. If you drop them on a hard surface they make that "tink" noise lol. I can't imagine ever being able to break one. I wonder who else uses forged parts on an RC outside of nitro engine components.I agree but $6k???!!!
If this is really true, iI have a couple few $100k sitting here in cars and parts I bet!![]()
I have a Tomahawk here that I'm dying to take out. Its pretty lightweight, still built tough tho.I was being sarcastic lol. Bending those rails seems tough to do. My Javelin was at top speed and slammed head on into a full 55 gallon drum and just bounced off and kept going. I also launched it from the top of this gymnasium and landed about the 2nd step from the floor. It was a hard hit that had the whole gymnasium rumbling thinking it was a goner. It landed on the front, took a big flip onto the floor and I ran drift laps around the gym floor. Best drift surface ever!I have a Tomahawk here that I'm dying to take out. The chassis design is on of my favorites!
I used to bend the main chassis rails on my Turbo Optima.
There are new designs, better machining, materials to prevent bending the 'hop-up' rails now if I manage to bend the stock rails again.
I do love my 80's 'heavy metal'!![]()

The next day another kid thought he'd bring his Tamiya I think. Or some Radio Shack buggy. We both made a wrong turn and met head on full tilt. It looked like my Javeling drove through an RC buggy made of legos. His car parts went everywhere![]()
