Is anybody else's town this strange?

Back in my hometown we had the same Sherrif and Deputy team for almost thirty years. (Yes, the Sheriff's name was Earl 0.o) Anyhow my senior year of HS, I was buying a pack of smokes at the "KKK" Store- the Kountry Kash Korner Spelled exactly like that and he (Earl) was outside sticking a broom behind a payphone. I asked him WTF he was doing and he told me a rat had been spotted by the curator of the store. I walked next door to the video store and when I came out Earl had pulled his service sidearm and fired four rounds into the damn thing. I lauged until I cried.

I got ya all beat; a local cop was busted for having a 'nooner' in his patrol car. Seems he was caught in the act by his own foot hitting the mic, thus sending the commotion over dispatch.

Got another one too. My Agriculture Teacher in HS, Mr. Webb was fired for excessive verbal usage.

Yes, he talked to much. Specially when he and his wife were getting a divorce, he talked about that one a lot.

Here's another one. Every time it rains hard, the underpass in town floods to the top. It's like 20 feet deep and somebody always drives off in it. Every time. And if we're really lucky, they find a car at the bottom with a body in it after the thing drains.

I'm still trying to figure out personal tags on a motorcycle? How does that even work?

I'm a couple miles outside of town, but we've got some real winners here, too. Mostly it's just the idiots on snowmobiles, in the winter. I'm not talking about the people who stay at the edge of the yard, just so they can get where they're going. We get people coming well into our yard, as soon as there;s enough snow for those things to run. I still want to throttle the SOB that drove his quadrunner through the middle of our yard.

The intersection I live on floods at least once a year. My nieghbor (who is one of the nicest, most selfless people I've ever personally met) usually ends up pulling a couple of dipshits out, with his pick up. The bad thing is, it never gets deep enough to get into most cars's air intakes. These people pull up to the water, back up a little, then gun it into the water.

Also once had somebody come up the side road, decide he didn't want to try going through that water, and tried to drive through our yard, instead. He had to be pulled out, leaving two nice deep muddy ruts.

That is just wrong!

On so many f**ing levels . . . My God . . . lol . . . . Well you know, you don't want to show any prejudice against motorcyclists.

I think they should change the handicapped parking law to "can't f**ig walk only." That should remove some of the gray areas.

Talk about watching a 50+year old man riding his Electric wheel chair in the middle of the street, thinking he is a car! :spit:

when I lived in NYC we tied a tow rope to a friends jeep and he towed us through thte streets on snowboards....most of the time there was snow too......one year we had a huge storm and it iced over solid then snowed more and every car was covered w/ at least 24" of hard packed snow....we made a gap jump from one car to another like quarter pipes and were using the "tow in" method to get speed to try it......stupid kids at 2 am in Kew gardens and there were people hanging out the window watching us attemp this about 20 times......

And I think everyone that was a teenager in NY knows about skitching on trucks in the snow......

Wow there are soem screwed up people out there haha, worst I've seen is someone joy riding on main street...on a fourwheeler.

In NYC, they have a special wheelchair pass for people that can't walk at all, (they can park anywhere without being ticketed) and regular wheelchair plates or the mirror tag for people that are some what disabled. (Restricted to mall and store lots only.

I don't agree that they should be taken away from people that are "Limited" but can walk.
I have to say yes to a lot of people having the tags that don't need them, but every 2 years, you have to be evaluated by a doctor to see if your still in need of the tag.
It's not an automatic renewal.
I know all of this because I have the tag.
For the most part I can get around okay, but it's not without pain.
Every step I take hurts, so the less I have to walk the better.

Well, you know what I'm talking about. People bounce outta the car hunky dory, with no apparent difficulty whatsoever. There has to be some way to weed out abuse.

A lot of times you might see a significant other using the tag.
I won't let my wife use my tag.
They are pretty strict around here, and will take it from you if caught.

Sucks when people abuse a privilage.

my mother in law has ms has had it for 15 years...we dont let her drive even though the state gave her a lisence but thats another story ....some days you may not quickly notice anything wrong with her then before you know it her body just kinda locks up sometimes its just the right leg that stops working & she kinda trys to walk & drag it ...there is abuse for sure, but just because someone "looks " fine. it isnt always the case ....

My point exactly.

The people here that know me, know that I had an accident on a motorcycle many years ago.
Cut off my lower left leg in a crash, and had it reattached.
You would never know unless I showed you the scar.
I do have a slight limp (very slight), but lost 40% of muscle movement. In other words, I can move my foot with my hand, but I can't move it by itself 100%. There is always pain though
People looking at me would never guess that I had a problem getting around, but put some heavy packages in my hand and make me walk across a long parking lot and I'm done.
I'm not trying to make this about me, I'm just trying to point out that everyone that might seem OK, might not be OK at all.
I also realize that there are a lot of poop heads out there that just get the tag
So they always have a close spot.
Now that this thread has been completely derailed......
Sorry about that.

I point out the jackasses that absolutely are NOT disabled to my daughter and say "look honey, that's what a scumbag looks like".....I haven't found one person yet that I confront w/ my daughter that can argue the point.....I'm waiting for that day......but I HATE seeing that privilege abused....I get offered the temp card (1 year) every time I have a surgery...I always turn it down.....I figure there are people way more needy than me for that card.......

I was out last night and some jackass was taking up 2 handicap spaces with his hot rod. Were plenty of spots left, but that's not the point. The assholes always get by with it too.

Got another one since you were talking about lawnmowers and such. I have a cousin that is one hardcore alcoholic. About a year ago he lost a leg in a car accident and is in a wheelchair. fiddlesticker makes it around everywhere in that wheelchair! As long as he has a couple of 40 oz. beers, he is good to go.
My aunt was dogsitting a bichon. I look out the door and here he comes walking that dog, it's pouring the rain. Got the dog tied to the arm of the wheelchair, 40 oz. of beer between his legs, having a hell of a time. I live about 2 miles from them.
He managed to go to jail in another state a while back. Dude goes more places in that wheelchair than I do in my vehicle!
