In need of a new monitor, where to buy?

Well after about 2 1/2 years my Sony E400 is slowly going out. I've been wondering why my eye's hurt to much while using the computer and this morning I found out why as the monitor really started acting up. Text jumping all over the place, and the screen becoming very blurry, I can hear a slight ticking sound from the monitor from time to time.

So it's time to buy a new monitor, anyone have any suggestions on brands and places to buy for a 19" monitor?

Just make sure you buy it local or you are going to bend over on the shipping charge.

Do you want to jump to LCD's or would you like to stick to CRT's?

Sticking with CRT's - I'm to poor for a 19" LCD, heck I'm to cheap for a 19" CRT but I gotta buy a new one.

Isnt it funny how we can't justify buying an expensive monitor, but to drop 300 bucks on an engine would be considered

I am real happy with my NEC FE2111, with a mitsubishi diamondtron tube. I found it at Fry's on sale because it was black.

Woodie, I was walking through compusa today and seems like there's a lot of sales on regular crt's since more people are looking towards flat panels and flat screens. try it out or go to compusa's website.

I picked up a decent 19" from one of the wholesale stores. You know that one where you go to buy cereal and its in a 55 gal drum. I think I paid $140 for it. To tell you the truth I can't even remember the name but I did a search on it for reviews and it had a lot of good bang for the buck comments. What are you looking to spend??
