Has the site been contaminated (ie: gummy worms, women’s lingerie, foreign objects, etc)

Is there a family history?

Any unusual discharge?


If yes to any of the above then it may not be a bad idea to have it checked

How's your PSA numbers?

Manual exams aren't worth a whole lot for diagnosing anything other than size, which varies some anyway. Blood test and/or biopsy are a whole lot more informative.

Check with your Doctor, and ask him if you do. My Doctor at Cleveland Clinic Hospital told me that it's advisable for men over 45 years of age, or if you are having some problems!!!

Doctors will always tell you you should get one, that's where their paycheck comes from. A good question is how any times a night do you get up to use the restroom and have you had any difficulty going? If these are not issues and you have no discomfort of any kind I wouldn't sweat it too much.
