My girlfriend says I'm just fine.
The wait in the doctors office? Almost gets me fired
So idk if it's worth it.
@JohnnyOctopuss, let's continue with this👆dilemma in bold above.
What do you see yourself doing in the office that almost gets you fired?

What does this mean?

The 8:00 appointment doesn't get seen until 9:45. Then the rest of the appnt, paperwork... 8:00am ='s noon departure. 🙄
Boss doesn't like/understand why a general check up should take all morning...
Thats my guess anyway. 🤷‍♀️🤣

I would also be concerned if my employee's doctor appointment took 4 hours lol.
Schedule it, show up on time...maybe wait 20-30 minutes if the doc is running late...gtfo.

Even urgent cares allow you to schedule appointments these days!

I understand your point.
Unfortunately, when you make an appntmnt that takes 3 months to be seen, rescheduling is also problematic.
Its worse if its a regular appoinment for a medication refill that simply can not be rescheduled or meds run out, a wound needs checking on etc...

I have been stuck at the drs WAY too many times before. Not a slight bit of chance I was leaving until I was seen. 😐

My uncle has a dr that he hasn't actually been able to see in almost a year due to rescheduling.
The system is nonsense.
Most Drs simply do not respect their patients. 🤬

I definitely oversimplified the situation in my response, and I fully agree with that sentiment right there. Between the doctors themselves, their office staff, and the insurance providers...it's the wild west out there these days.

I recently had to switch dentists because his office staff "did not like dealing with our insurance provider". Our insurance provider supposedly gave them bad information once regarding a procedure my wife was having which caused us to have a higher bill than expected. Moving forward, the office refused to contact them for pre-authorizations or questions regarding coverage and literally forced us to do their job for them.

I showed up 15 minutes early for an appoinyment. Waited an hour, during which time the empty waiting room, which held about 25 people, filled up and emptied again. That was when I got up and told the receptionist to tell that doctor to stick it.

Ugh!!!
Maine is having a big problem with Anthem right now.

The medical profession was turned into an industry and then into a money printing press. No single part is immune. ( see what I did there??? 🤣)

Billing staff for doctor offices are awful where I live. If I owned a business they would be non-hirable. Literally some of the most entitled and laziest people I’ve ever had to deal with. ZERO respect for them and they create a 2 month long headache that makes me want to close my head in an elevator door every time I receive a bill where they didn’t even bother to contact my insurance. The other thing they do is bill your insurance and then bill you for the the full bill afterwards… then they argue with you about how you didn’t provide insurance even though you have proof from your insurance provider they already billed them.

When I broke my hand at work a few years ago, they couldn’t even be bothered to bill workers comp. I ended up paying out of my own pocket because they gave me zero notification they even billed me and sent it to collections. My job ended up reimbursing me, but it took months. My boss was with me giving them all the paperwork for workers comp when I checked in too… but they claimed they never received the paperwork. 🙄

If I get hurt or sick, just drop me off at a Walgreens… I’d rather take my chances with Mayo Clinic and a random middle aged woman I found in the store who claims she’s an empath in my diagnosis/treatment.

Same, it should not take a year to get billing straightened out. They should pass a law with a statute of limitations. If they can't get it sorted in 3 months, you shouldn't owe them.

I'm old.
My employer capped company paid health insurance when it hit $100/mo. Above that we had to pay.
I bailed when it started doubling just about annually.
Back then, there was a doctor in the next town that refused to deal with insurance. Cash only. He only did kids sports and truck driver physicals, and general office calls that cost $25. Or a bottle of Jim Beam. Late day appointments sometimes ran long if you paid with the JB.

How's your PSA numbers?

Manual exams aren't worth a whole lot for diagnosing anything other than size, which varies some anyway. Blood test and/or biopsy are a whole lot more informative.
Thanks for your help. Alot of individuals here are very shy of real, raw questions.
