ijust got a new charger and did not come with a dc plug to power the charger. but it did come with aligator clamps that plug in to the power suppy hole. are the aligator plug for use with a car battery or will i mess up my charger? the charger is the imax b6.

The alligator clips are for DC hook up like a car battery. I have the same charger and I'm using an old modem wall plug for the power supply. Read your manual i think it will accept any 18v or lower input that will fit.
 
Before you use any adapter on your charger make sure that it's the right voltage, current and polarity if DC.

I just found a 12 volt charger, checked polarity was right and wired it up- so now I got IMAX on 12volt home power supply.
I believe you can get a dedicated power supply for it.But any charger around 12v with correct polarity and plug should do it.
