Serviced my Blue-point ratchet spanners. Pulled them apart, cleaned and oiled. They work like new again. Don't know why I let them get so bad.

Back on the RC Track now that the 2+wks of constant rain, and Helene has moved on finally.. Glad I am not more west.. I feel for the hundreds of thousands+ affected by the devastation, as well has the countless lives lost.. 😔

Did a ton of leaf blowing yesterday for hours, and today I’ll be torching all of them, as well as knocking out the foliage in my single inboard tree line for visibility. Then I’m mixing up my vinegar, and going to town on the entire footprint of the track.

I’ll do this for three days straight, then depending on how it looks; either drag it once more-or go ahead and start compacting/running it in. I’ll be sure to get some photos of the progress, and post up here, but I’ll probably go ahead and start a dedicated thread for it as well. I’m stoked. 🤩🤘

Have you posted any pics of this track, here? I would really like to see it.

Just the very early stage of it-outlining the overall footprint, beginning to take out all the grass, etc.. I believe here in this thread if I’m not mistaken.. -But possibly in the wrenching thread..😅🤷🏻‍♂️

Ok.........I think it's time to post some updated pics, LittleSlacker!

Copied/pasted:

The burned areas are simply the outline of the outermost footprint. The lanes will be 10’ wide, not 3-4’… 🤣 also-the track will be roughly 160’x80’… Respectively. 🤩

Had a few hours to burn (literally 😅), so I knocked out the left hand outermost footprint of the track.. ALL grass inboard of these boundaries will be gonezo. It’s a good thing I’m so easily amused with fire, and anal af… 🤣

From the driver’s stand (deck) looking left:

From roughly 8-10’ or so:

From “in the neighborhood of” the property line about 20’ further left, and obviously looking to the right hand side I did a few days back… This gives you an idea of how wide it’s going to be:

Same deal, but at the back side:

IMG_5518.jpeg

Back side/far lane from the opposite end (this will be an uninterrupted straightaway) :

IMG_5520.jpeg

And of course from the far right, to the far left, and closest portion. I will get that “slight bow” handled:

IMG_5521.jpeg

And this run is going to get pushed over another 15’ or so further right:

Not gonna be knocked out in a day or three obviously, but I am digging the new torch! It’s gonna take longer than easier methods (vinegar, tilling, etc.), but I don’t want it all to just come right back in a big dammit hurry, and do not mind the extra time, effort, and expense of doing it RIGHT imo.. I’ll drag it with the Kubota after.. 🤩🍻🤘

I’ll get more today/tomorrow. 🍻💪😎

Don't you guys have red clay dirt down there?

Don't you guys have red clay dirt down there?
Yeah-literally everyone but ME…😳🤷🏻‍♂️

I’ve built several 1/8 off-road tracks over the years, as well as BMX tracks, and even trails… This is the ONLY time I’ve ever NOT seen red clay..

It’s fine though-I’ll save money on tires, and it’ll be easier to maintain. It is weird though, I’m not even gonna front like it doesn’t bother me a little lol..

Only pic I have of a track I built is in this commemorative sticker my boy made for those who were there.. I have a bunch, but none showing an entire track.. Only this one.. go figure..😅

Pretty damn close. There actually is two tiny parts under the button that I couldn't put back together so
I used some Scotch tape to hold the button on. Never worked better. :D
