racing but i dont know where to start. i'm more of a basher that just likes to get big air. I've seen some truggies and now i kinda wanna start racing. can someone point me in the right direction. also can truggies still do the bashing that i do now with my TMAXX.

i've narrowed my choices to either a revo, mbx5t, st-r. i'm kinda leaning towards the mbx5t or the st-r because i want a kit. but i'm just wondering if the truggies can still do the bashing while being race ready. if not maybe i'll get a revo

Boy I think it comes down to how mush cash you want to spend....the Mugen is THE choice for Truggy racing right now....once its properly dressed for racing I would hesitate before bashing it ...just from an investment stand point.

Soooooo keep the tmaxx for your bash rig and get the Mugen for racing. ;)

Making any rig "Race Worthy" (to be really competitive anyway) will require a pretty big investment ($$$) in parts, engines, electronics, etc. To then take that expensive rig out a jump it off garages, slaming into trees, and general unabashed "Bashing" would be a waste of time and money in my opinion. You will constantly be changing out worn parts, re-adjusting your settings, re0tuning your engine everytime you run.

Now, if your just looking to keep your rig stock and are not wanting to/not ready to compete for first in the A-Main race then I think the revo is going to be the way to go. Small investment relative to a full on race kit ($1200 or more just for the rig) and still plenty beefy with cheap parts to replace if broken during a bash session.

I think the Revo works great as a racing platform. The way to make most any rc vehicle faster than what it currently is, is to stop flipping it upside down. You'll be competitive if you keep it on 4 wheels. After you race a few times then decide if you like it and maybe change platforms. Don't buy before you know you like to race!

would a revo be perfect for bashing and racing?
The Revo is the best truck out there at doing both of these with the same truck. There are better racers and maybe one or two better bashers, but the Revo is certainly the best truck if you plan to race and bash.
