i work at a bodyshop as the painter ... i dont c y auto paint wouldnt work , prep the body with prep solvent to remove oil and the skuff with a grey scotchbrite then mask off and paint

It won't work because 1:1 auto bodies don't flex like our RC bodies. Automotive paint isn't made to either adhere to, not have the flexibility needed to stay put on these things.

it works i have done it to a few of my bodies and ther holding up fine

I have a friend who Dad owns a customization shop and he painted one of his bodies like that and it held up for abotu 6 months and then started to crack and flake off slowly at first but more and more as time went on.....after awhile we started calling it the leper-mobile....lol

Well, if it works for you, then you do that. It with the hundred of other people on the site who post daily, and all of the lexan body manufacturers say to use lexan body paint, then that's what I'd do.

It was working fine until didnt decided to get involved and then all of a sudden it didnt work anymore!:)

You can use any paint you want just understand that if you dont use LEXAN paint it will eventually flake and fall off.
