So I have decided I'm replicating this Honda civic si my neighbor owns in real life. I love the look of it and I think it would be really cool if I did the bodywork well. For privacy reasons I used my phones magic eraser to get rid of the license plate on the left there.

Finding wheels and tires and stuff won't be a huge problem, my issue is finding the body!!
I have been looking around for a while now and the closest I've come is this one here. I guess its tamiya šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006267745012.html
Is the hatchback not the sedan is my problem. I want one that's not a type R, and it's gotta be the 10th generation of civic, and the sedan. If anyone has any idea where I could get one, let me know. If it comes to it I might need to custom make a body. No, I am not doing a mini Z i want something 1/10 or 1/12. Clear body!

Thanks so much guys!

ll keep an eye out. Tamiya, hpi and another company make radiators, exhausts and mirrors FYI.
The body I'm looking at is supposedly tamiya. I will be doing scale stuff. Even the mishimoto intercooler 😁 I will figure out the decals, and somehow get drl headlights in there šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø. I've got an idea. This is why we have 3d printers 😁

There's a guy in Canada that does micro scale logos too. If you go on ebay and look up scale touring car accessories tge options are endless.

What happened to this guy??

So here's what I'm thinking:

I dont think they make the sedan version of the civic in a body I can just buy, but i have seen how they make the bodies, and I'm thinking I could 3d print a mold, then buy a sheet of poly carbonate, heat that, and then have it shape the mold, then I've got a body. Thoughts? Is there a professional that can do this for me?

There’s a metric ton of YT videos outlining the process.. I’m actually going to be doing it here in the next month or two.

Oh cool! What are you trying to make?
A couple of 1/12 minitruggy bodies for my OG Jammin’ CRT.5’s.. I have a pair of virgin OG lids, but I don’t wanna run them, and nobody else offers anything that will work. So it’s up to me..

They’ll be the same body for each, just a hole cut out for the motor, fuel tank lid, and driver side window on the nitro truck.

Cool. How long have you been researching? What method are you using? What are you making the mold out of?

A couple/few months.. I’ve known about it for years, just never had the need to look into it. I’ll be drawing through the board-not through the buck. I’ll be making mine from several layers of wood stacked longitudinally from driver side to passenger side.

Cool. Another thing, I'm going for details, so wood probably won't work for me 🫤

Depends how good you are with your hands/tools/patience level.. The composition of the buck won’t be the deciding factor regarding finer details-it’ll be the buck drawing the vacuum through, not the board.
