Deer shotgun season
I haven't hunted in years. However, this year, I got back into guns, and now kinda have an itch for hunting. My area only allows shotgun for firearms on deer. Since I got a new toy, I may just head out into the woods, here and there, this coming fall.

I love to shoot and have most of the flat shooting .22 calibers. My favorite is my .220 Swift and it will reach out and touch something.. :p I can do that but I don't have the lung capacity for anything else.

.220 swift is a laser
Deer shotgun season
We can only use shotguns for bird where I live.

I'm slowly gathering parts to spin up a 22 creed. It should run an 88gr eld around 3400fps. I can't really run anything bigger than 60 gr in my swift (1978 ish M77 varmint). I might try to get some 62 gr barnes tsx's to group when I get some range time. I think I can get them up in the 3500fps range.
My 223 ackley gets the most love, though. It'll move 75 gr amax's at 2950. On 25-ish grains of powder.
I ain't sure if I'll get an archery season this year. My neck is pretty far from ok for carrying a pack or drawing more than 40-50#...

Guy's gotta eat 😉
I am sure there are some hunters in here.

Any of you have some neat trips planned? Specific animals you are trying to harvest?

This year for me I am going after bull elk and bull moose with my bow.
Lately I prolly spend 15-20 days a year chasing elk, a week or so on speed goats, and an occasional day or three hunting deer. Maybe a week glassing black bears in the spring. Before kids it was more like I was home 2 days a week in September, and 5 days a week in the backcountry with a bow (and way too many G bears).
The last couple years- thanks to on-x, I've punch a tag or two on my way home from the jobsite during rifle season. It's handy, but kinda cuts into hunting time with extra butchering 🤣

I don't shoot my Swift when we head out shooting whistle pigs because of that very reason. I use either my .22-250 or .223
My second favorite to shoot is my .204 Ruger , incredible rifle.

Never hunted. Just never had opportunity and didn't grow up with guns. Have family and friends that hunt. I did get really into airguns prior to moving to our new place 2 years ago. RCs kind of put that on the back burner and I need to create a range like we had at our last house.

These pics are from our old house. Whole family loves plinking. I'd go to the dollar store to get trinkets to shoot up. Also made some other targets and the crude gun rack with scrap wood I had-lol.

Some co2, some pump action and the scoped one is a breakaway barrel.

My full-auto Umarex Steel Strike is a blast!! 🤪 😁 😄 Who doesn't love full auto!! My scoped rifle was for shooting the stoopid groundhogs in my yard! This fall I'll probably get my range set up at the new house......if I can get away from the RCs!!! 😁✌️

Alright, a fellow airhead!

RC was my break from airguns for the past couple of years. I've recently gotten back into airguns and shooting, in general. I also got my first airsoft a few months ago, and I think it's awesome! 150 shots in full auto, accurate, quiet, and can't do much collateral damage.....equals any time fun!
I'm a big fan of Dollar store target supplies as well.

Holy crappers! You are def more of an airhead than me!! 😂 Nice collection and range! 👍Except those poor rubber duckies! (I'm a huge duckie/Donald Duck fan 🤷‍♂️)

It's a blast! Got my kids into it when they were young (they held them they way they wanted to-🤦‍♂️) Heck, FIL and brother had a blast too! Had lots of fun tearin' up the big stagecoach cookie jar!! The last pic is the pop-up targets I made.

Haha I love the way some of your little people are holding their rifles. At least the muzzle was down range 😁

I love shooting them mini rubber duckies at 30yd with the break barrels. They were 6 for $1 from the Dollar store.
I got my daughter a pellet gun a few years ago. It's been hard to find the big co2 cannisters lately, so we haven't been shooting it much 🥺

Oh, yeah, Sig!

Are you aware that you can buy an adapter that allows you to use the smaller co2 cartridges?

I too enjoy plinking but never really did the hunting thing. You guys are going to make me dust off my airguns aren't you?

My current yard is too small to use them in, finding someplace around here that wouldn't involve a swat raid is tricky....this state so sucks for firearms, even pellet guns.

Just ordered one- thank you!

I am looking into getting an airsoft gun (or 3) what brands/guns are good? Electric, green gas or co2? Are there features I should aviod?
