I have heard that a few guys from HPI use Dual Sticks... Read an arcticle in RC Driver that it gives you complete control while drifting and such, but is really hard to use while driving.

It's all personal choice. When I started, sticks were the norm and then the pistol grip came out. There's a few racers out there that still use sticks. Saw it on the 2004 IFMAR Worlds dvd a while back.

Yeah I've seen a few times before too. Id actually like to try it out. Just to see how it feels.

I raced with a dual stick for the longest time. Futabe 2GS, looked like a toy radio. Also, had a Futaba Attack II, for my boat. Probably one of the coolest looking transmitters at the time, chrome and black.

How does having a dual stick affect the actuall driving? I know an older guy who liked model planes. He was telling me that his trainer plane had SIX servos. I know most transmitters (dual) have something like an adjustable knob for throttle, so is it harder in some ways?

I started out on sticks, I kind of like it, I remember when futaba drop there first wheel, man I feel old, lol.

with a stick radio.. each stick can be two channels.. up/down and left/right.. so thats 4 channels plus a throttle.. sounds complicated..

Only when it's specified to be used in that configuration like the plane and heli guys. Otherwise i's just throttle/ brake and steering.
