I bought the XD kit for my LCG Slash 4X4 project, and found out that the older style clip type body mounts don't fit the XD shock towers. They moved the holes in the shock towers over to fit the clipless body style, which I am seriously not a fan of the clipless body. Because of it, I either widen the holes in my current body mounts, which I'm not a fan of doing, or, I needlessly spend money to retrofit the 3 bodies I use with that truck to clipless body mounts, which I'm even less of a fan of. The difference in where the holes are for the clipped and clipless body mounts is literally maybe 6MM, as you can see in the pic, so, why couldn't they have just kept the holes in the same place, so that you can use either mount. I already have a hard enough time lining up 4 holes for the clip style body mounts. Trying to retrofit the bodies I have for clipless style body mounts will probably ruin them. On top of that, I swap bodies between trucks quite often.

That sucks! What is the model number of the kit you purchased. This kit looks like it comes with the body mounts needed.

I bought the kit from eBay, and, am now realizing why it was so much cheaper than the one from A-Main. It didn't come with any of the screws, the body mounts, or the hexes, so, now I'm trying to find those parts.

I hope you get it all sorted out! Funny you mention eBay, the last few purchases I made were not good at all! I think I'll be taking a break from eBay.

Your $10.00 from completing your build. I made the same mistake when I was building my Slash except backwards. I got the HD body mounts then realized they wouldn't bolt up to my RPM shock towers.

Actually, it wasn't eBay or the sellers fault, it was entirely mine. I looked at the listing title, and didn't bother reading the description. After going back and reading the description, I realized that it was another kit breaker like Jenny's, so, that's entirely on me. It's not a huge deal though. By the time I get the hexes, pins and screws, and the body mounts, it will be around $20 total, so I'm still under the price of the kit new. Jenny's has the screws and pins, and the body mounts are cheap, so it still works out in my favor, and, hey, I learned a lesson. Always read the description first before buying.
