How many more ways are you going to ask the same question?

The savage XL is the biggest baddest basher on the market in most peoples opinions. The 8ight is also a great basher but doesn't have the ground clearance of the savage and is probably a little more geared to running on a track.

The revo 3.3 is brittle compared to either of these and will take several hundred dollars of upgrades to hang with either of the other options.

If your bashing buy the savage XL and sell the engine on ebay and replace with a lrp .32 and you are still in it for less than either of your other options and you have one of the baddest rigs available.

^ agreed! Can't say much for the Losi I've never owned so I can't give a fair opinion about it. I have owned 2 T-Maxxes a Revo a savage X and now currently own a Savage XL. Out of all of them I like the XL best because of the longer wheel base and wider stance.The Savage X is great truck as well and either one of those is way tougher out of the box than the Revo. I would say if you're just gonna to bash then go with either one of the Savages, if you're gonna race and bash then go with the Losi. Like I said I have never owned one but from what I've read about it and from what people say about it on here I would say it's a great product.

I like how the savage seems to always land back on its wheels 85% of the time....Is it just me or have other people had the same experience. I have a Savage X SS and I love it but I'm still partial to my Losi MTs. The 8ight is a bad ass buggy but really doesn't come into its own unless you are driving it on a track. I wouldnt even consider the Revo personally. Buy the Savy IMO.

I've had a couple buggies over the years and what I find is difficult to do is finding terrain to drive them on. You need dirt or very short grass. I rarely have either, but when I did, the buggies in stock for I had could take more punishment than any MT I've had that was fully upgraded to take abuse. Bigger air, harder wrecks, just generally tough as nails.

My buggy was a total blast when I had a refinery to run out, but I got ousted out and now must resort to a single skate park and a few parks. Neither of which is really fun for a low to the ground buggy.

Now when I want to run something fast, tough and low, I break out the jato. I haven't ran it in about a year though... still no good place to run.

If your going to be in grass, I'd suggest a MT of some sort for you.

They both have the same amount of support. Don't base your decision on top speed. The 8ight is a single speed meant for racing not drag racing and top end(although its fast). The XL is a 3 speed meant for bashing. Buy whichever one suits what style of driving you'll do. Who cares which one is faster, its comparing apples to oranges.

OK bro I've had buggies and MTs, I have to say LOSI is a great name, and can never go wrong with it. the Savage XL is great, but I recommend selling the stock engine on ebay and buying an LRP.. you will be much happier. As far as which one goes faster... the buggy will always go faster than the MT with the same setup.. its a weight and resistance issue. for me its a personal choice now to stick with MTs I don't race, and never plan to, so for me I would rather spend my money on a MT.

Now you may want to wait a while because the LOSI XXLs have been put on backorder and there are rumors of another LOSI MT being released. So to answer your question buggy vs MT is all about preference, and application.

If ya want an MT tougher then a savage. get an associated MGT. I have a savage and a MGT and its tougher period. Granted I have a Losi LST and a aftershock. Shear abuse I think the savage would break before the MGT or the Losi's

I disagree Dyna. I have/had the Losi LST2, XXL, MGT 4.6 and a Savage X 4.6 and while all 3 of them are great kits I feel the savage takes the most abuse of the three. Of course this probably comes down to personal experiences as everyone can have a different experience with the same kit. That has been my experience anyway. The one thing I dislike about the Savy compared to the others is its a littl emore of a pain to work on.

Yes the savage is alot more of a pain to work on. The OP seems to want tough and ability to take abuse. Hence the reason I mentioned the MGT. The MGT is a lot easier to work on too.

My MGT8.0 can't go 5 min with out breaking the rear turnbuckle unless I just drive around doing wheelies , now my XL or X only thing I had to do was clean the dirt of , and I was a Team Associated guy my hole life onto I got a XL LOL

Just to clear it up about the losi MT, It was on a losi forum. I can't find the dang link atm. but as I can remember there was no concrete evidence.. I hope its true.

Where are you guys getting the idea that the Savage is hard to work on? I can change my spur gear without having to remove the engine or transmission. I can service the diffs with even having to take the wheels off. Heck I can have it torn completely down in about 30 minutes or less. What's so hard about it?

+1 cwal1774 , yes, it's very easy to work on savages. Like what you said I can changed the spur gear without removing the engine and remove and put back the front and back diff without even removing the tires. Any situation I think it will be easy if your used to it and you know what to removed parts in an easiest way and to fixed back.

I meant it was just a wee bit harder to work on than my Losi's but that may just be because I'm used to working on them more than I am the Savage.

I have an MGT but a 4.6SE. The trucks are basically the same minus the engine. As for the turnbuckles ain't had that prob. But I put lunsfords on it as well. Had some bad luck with turn buckles so I put them on everything.
