I've never used parma masks and have always done stuff free hand or used normal tape offs, so I'm curious how a parma mask works. I've actually never even seen one..lol.. How do they work? Does it go on the inside or outside? Whats steps does a person take to paint them? Paint the images 1st of last or what. This is probley a dumb question, but Like I said I've never seen them or even used them. Thanks~Andy

10 people look at this and dont know how to use them or what?

Yes, they go on the inside of the body. the Parma masks and XXX Main masks all work the same way. Here is a quick summary on how to use them.

1. Cut & Trim your body

2. Clean the inside of the body

3. Now you need to weed the Parma or XXX mask. Simply peel up the outside part of the graphics (the part that gets thrown away). This allows you to peel the graphic off cleaner & gives you a better idea of the graphic size and shape.

4. Apply the graphic to the inside of the body

--- Tip: Positioning decals can be tricky because of their adhesive backing. To easily position decals, you can spray the body with window cleaner and leave it wet. The wetness will help you position the decals. When they are where you want them, squeeze out the excess moisture and let the body dry and the decals will be in place!

If you use an applicator to apply the mask, you can eliminate using the window cleaner. I prefer this method over the window cleaner. If you pick up a mask w/ a very detailed design or is really big, it would be a good idea to use an applicator to help you lay down the paint mask. Believe me, they sure do make things easier.

* * Tip --- the best thing to use to rub the mask onto the body is the blank white wax paper that you peeled the mask off of. Some people suggest using a credit card, but you can rip or cut the mask using this. The wax paper that the mask came on works the best. There are two sides to the paper, use the side that allows the paper to flow over the mask really smooth. Thus, there is no friction on the mask and you can simply put pressure on it to rub it into the body.

5. After applying the decals, flip the body over & check for:
--- any air holes on the edges
--- any creases in the paint mask
--- any part of the mask that does not have a good contact w/ the mask (especially the edges).

If there are any, paint will run inside them and can ruin your design & body.

6. Depending on your colors, you would paint the main body color first then allow it to dry. Then simply peel up your paint mask and spray that part too.

That's about all there is to using them.
XXX sells a big sheet of applicator for under $3. Here is a link:
