I recently picked up a used Slash 4X4, that someone painted several parts, and going by the way the paint looks, they used a brush. Is there any way to remove the paint without damaging the plastic parts? I did several searches about it, but every search I did was for removing paint from plastic models, which are made of a different plastic (polystyrene) than RC parts (fiber reinforced nylon).

It would be a big help to know what kind of paint was used.
I honestly have no clue. For all I know, it could be house paint of some kind. It looks like it was brushed on, but, the doesn't say much.

The bright colors, and lettering being done on the chassis....I would bet on paint markers which could also have a brushed on appearance. If they used higher end stuff good luck. Your best bet would be to lightly sand to get rid of the brushed on look and repaint whatever color you like.
