I feel like I'm asking a noob question here but let me explain. I bought this motor on sale with a couple 60A escs. The esc (10BL60)is clear, equal or less than 13.5 turns is ok.
The motor is a Xerun 3652SD 3800kv D5 G2.
The paperwork I have only lists no-load current 3.9A. Website too.
So can I use these in my Optima Mid until I step it up or am I going to have a carbon fiber and titanium bbq??? 🤣

3800 kv is probably just under that 13.5 turn limit... generally as number of turns decreases, the kV rating increases.
10.5T ~ 4500kv
13.5T ~ 3500kv
Thanks! The 13.5 is 'off road' limit. 10.5 for on road. I'll be running an off road buggy on a carpet track. Maybe that will still be ok.
I didn't intend to combine these but I never got around to ordering the XeRun combo on Black Friday. Its not ideal but if it works for now, I might go with it.

Turns to kv, or vise versa, kinda isn't like a real thing and/or can't be estimated. Because my 13.5 in the 4wd buggy can produce 4000kv on the motor tester. HW states 4100kv no load. Unless my understanding of turns vs kv is wrong.

I see your a carpet racer like me and my dad. I run a 13.5T 4WD Buggy (Associated B74.1) and my Dad has a 17.5T 2WD Buggy (Yokomo YZ-2 Cal3) also a 13.5T 2WD Stadium Truck (Associated T6.2).

I have been pushing this build for a while now. I keep building it, finding a mod, unbuilding, then rebuilding. 🤣
I used to race an Optima Mid and a Turbo Optima years ago.
I miss racing and I want to get back to it. I want to get this buggy built with new parts and tech so I can try to run with newer cars.
If not, I'm already pretty sure it will destroy in any sort of vintage class. 🤣
This build has been challenging on many levels but so much fun too!

I sort of understand which is why I still don't get why HW isn't cut and dry with their own products at least. 🤣

Any thoughts on the XR10 esc?
4A bec is low but it seems like it has most everything I need otherwise and is cheaper than the XeRun by a lot!

Which XR10 esc? The justock? stock spec? pro?

4A is perfectly fine imo.

Or if you don't care about the more features and blinky mode 10bl60 or 10bl120 sd does just fine. I run a bl120 in my 22 5.0 with a 17.5

Edit: 10BL60 is peak current of 200A and ~13.5T motor from what I seen can pull usually around 70-80A or 130A when you punch it fast so you should be in the clear to actually run it just keep in check on temps and/or add more powerful fans. HW says greater than a 8.5 3650 on 2s

Thank you for that! The sheet this motor came with doesn't look like that at all. 🤷‍♀️

The XR10 pro is the one I was just looking at.
I have a Just Stock here too.
I have a fan that should work well too.

Used to run it in the B74.1 a while back. after a year, it quit on me and gave me the red light of death. Right at practice time before race night. Fancy and all but. I heard that the red light of death issue is popular with the Pros. Like if I pay that much for an esc it should last me a very long time.

I agree. I don't want to pay for a new esc every year! 🤣
We'll see how this goes I guess. Maybe this esc will do everything I want it to do.
