Hi all.
I faced with some issues with my electronics. Need an advice - what to look at first (or should i send it to seller straight away)

Issue #1
Motor seems to break once i release the throttle. To better describe - i could say - i can feel it resists (esc programmed to 0 BG on neutral position. also TR\BR points are re-calibrated)

Issue #2
reverse works odd... i mean sometimes it will work (obviously after full stop) when i push a trigger 3-4 times. sometimes 10...or more..... unless i put this new motor - never notice an issue with reverse (prev motor was 3652SD 4100kV BLK G3)

Can be drag brake setting in the esc or it can feel it has resistance because the drivetrain has resistance. The drag brake setting is a setting where it you return to neutral the esc/motor will brake at that set percent. Usually HW escs come with 5 percent drag brake.

First is this happening with the new 3665 or the old 3652? HWs have a double tap reverse protocol in them so you have to go back to neutral and double tap reverse 2 times before it actually goes into reverse. If it isn't, can be that the reverse force is set too low or reverse isn't enabled on the running mode (ie making sure running mode is in fwd/brk/rev. Also make sure your throttle trim is set to center/0/neutral bc any positive trim in the radio the esc will look at it as throttle signal even if the trigger is at neutral, if that's checked off I'll double recalibrate the esc one last time just to make sure.

as i mentioned - drag brake set to 0. drivetrain moves super freely (ttriplecheck every single part separately and all together with motor detached)
it looks like it has some drag brake and just ignoring my setup.

Regarding double tap - newer know. will check it on a couple of hours and give a feedback. as per prev motor - i was just like "go - full stop on a brakes - push for reverse"

have to mention once again.
i did check everything (based on my knowledge) otherwise i would never bother anyone here with dump questions ))

i can spin it by rotating the shaft but it resists. not like bearing failed, but like magnets are holding the motor.
Ok so the resistance/braking issue from OP, that can be due to the stronger magnets, and the magnets doing their job. The magnets are holding the rotor of the motor in place in the can. Since you upgraded to the 3665, longer motor, bigger 5mm diameter shaft, more rotor surface area, leading to more powerful magnets and higher torque. Vs the old 3652, there's less rotor/magnet surface area and it can feel like it spins/rotates freely. (Magnetic cogging/torque, normal) That's the only explanation I have towards the braking/resistance. The reverse delay issue is mostly in the esc settings, calibration and radio settings. Bad sensor board/wire could alter with reverse but I highly doubt its a sensor issue.

I would never notice this if haven't another SSTE rig with way larger can. so i can compare. once i release TR - small one want to immediately stop like there is breaking force applied (please excuse my English, trying my best to describe an issue)

Oh you have your radio reversed.

You need to reverse your transmitter channel 2 and reverse rotation of your motor on your progranming card.
They are both reversed.
When you pull your trigger, you are putting the esc in reverse/braking functuon

i dont think so as in this case i couldnt throttle straight away (need to fully stop to activate reverse)BUT its a good point to check. will do this evening

I have an older radio that will do the same thing. It's like the radio has a hard time finding the throttle neutral zone.

If indeed you did put your radio's throttle trim at center/neutral while recalibrating the ESC throttle endpoints and still have intermittent working reverse... it may be your radio that is the issue.

You could test the ESC's throttle using another radio/receiver. Do you have another radio?

Yes Sir. as i have my wife enjoying RC hobby with me so i have 2 same exact transmitters
will do my best to test all tthis evening then update the thread

UPD.
i finally find a time to test it out...
took wheels off, put it on a stand...
everything works just fine...reverse - ok, everything else - ok..
don't know what was that...hopefully will have a chance to check on the track this weekend...will see how it goes.

Thank to everyone who helps
