How do you install clutch shoes? I'm installing new ones on my Hyper 8 port. Its a 3 shoe assembly. I'm not sure how to fit the springs. Help would be appriciated. Thanks!

Get the sping started on the post with the spring on the shoe, and use a vise, or have someone hold the engine while you use a small flathead vety carefully to compress the spring and slide the shoe/spring assemaly all the way on the post with the non=shoe side in that grove on the nut that hold the flywheel on.

[Edit] There should be a diagram in the manual for your car/truck/buggy if you have one. I don't have a digi cam, or scanner, so I can't past a pic of my diagram for you, but may someone else can if you can't figure it out.

pay attention to how the old ones come off, and make sure you put back the same way. I use 2 small flat screw drivers, it is a pain in the ass to do, but you will get better at it. Use the advice Hypedonrc gave you.

The other ones came off by accident before I could get a good look at it. Also I dont have a diagram...Wish I did. I'm still not getting it. The smaller oart of the spring seems to be in the way. I think I'm still doing something wrong.. Ugh...

That smaller part of the spring is what gets folded back into the grove on the nut that holds the flywheel on.

Can someone help him out with a pic? Real or diagram.

my car only has the directions(diagram) for a 2 shoe will that be good enuff? just simple put all the springs in all the shows having the longest part of the spring pon thew outside then put the shoe wiht spring still in it on the little rod use the flat point to guide the smaller spring into the groving on the flywheels nut. do the same for all but i remember the last one ytou have to move the first shoe or soemthing I'm not sure

I know what your saying now. Thats kinda what I was thinking. Is it correct that if I'm facing the engine the shoes end (The one opposite of where the pin is) (The pointed end)is on the right? Man these things are pissin me off!!!!!!

Cool, Thanks! I think I got it figured out. Nothing a couple band aids can't fix..lol.. Does anyone know if blood messes up how a clutch works??? lol

you know i was going to tell you to becarefull about doing that, but i figured i was the only one that stabed myself with a screwdriver, or was it the end of a spring in the thumb.
