I've never owned nitro either...I've only read more about them and i know more about engines...but i dont see any rc car battery life info on that website

Rechargeable batteries are rechargeable batteries. It doesn't matter what the application.

ok...i think i might get one of tehse minis. it would be smart to get at least 1 otehr bettery pack right? in the old xmod i have the betteries run out within 20 minutes a lot of the time

and i didnt know if on these better trucks it was the same

okey dokey

i think I'm gonna go with the rc18t are there any upgrades i should immediatly get or is it pretty much good stock?

Start with a stock 18T, learn what makes it tick then upgrade as you break it or as you can afford to. Buy the kit if you want to jump in with both feet but be prepared to spend a considerable amount more than the rtr if you do.

The best upgrade is a better battery pack. The stock one that came with mine has never been charged. The electronics that came with it saw about 1 minute of run time before I completely disassembled it, re-shimmed the diffs, replaced screws, tires, dropped in a Mamba brushless and added a 3 cell lipo.

Now it's almost completely stock again and it is one of my 7 year old daughter's sunny day pastimes.

The COOL thing about all the kits is they are ALL interchangeable. Buy one kit and get three out of it for low bucks! First upgrade suggested are the shocks, other than this the kits are fast, run time is great and durable as everyone is saying.

TIP: "Get the Losi quick charger for the Associated batts. Works PERFECT"

this is BONE STOCK right out of the box day one driving RC18MT.....I have a hopped up one w/ a mamba brushless and all the aluminum factory team stuff and I still have more fun with this one...it's actually my 9 year old daughter's, but she lets daddy play with it as long as he doesn't break it.....I originally bought her a mini-T and it saw a total of 2 packs...the thing kept breaking before either one was finished.....the only upgrade I've made to my kids is the RPM bumpers and deans connectors...the bumpers save you from snapping A-arms since it's wider and more flexible........I broke a shock once and an A-arm once in almost a year of having it.....

upgraded one does 45+mph...anytime it crashes at that speed it snaps the pivot balls alot......and I usually have to buy a new diff case since the threaded part is still in there.....and it's alot harder to control.....the stock one goes about 18mph but it seems alot faster...great to chase cats around the parking lots with :D......I'm going to put an orion baja in the hopped up one so it's a lil more controllable....

wow...thats pretty fast

are all brushless motors that powerful or can i get a not so powerful one?

yes, a stronger motor will drain a battery faster than a "stock" motor.
no, I don't believe the rc18t is "too fast" for it's size. However, that depends on how you're powering it. In stock "RTR" form it is not "too fast" or hard to control.

My opinion is this.. If you are interested in a micro go out and buy yourself the RC18T RTR truck. If you enjoy it and would like to make it perform better you know where to get solid opinions and advice.

i want one, then ill save up and get a better truck i just want somethign to get me more into the hobby right now..all i have had in the past were xmods

Another kit to think about is the Trinity BLADE kit with the pre-installed Cobalt brushless system and Momba ESC. Shocks are already upgraded also. VERY NICE KIT!
