I read about the new 3.3 engine for a jato they said it would run 70+ and they said that they will give half off if you went to trade the 2.5 in on a 3.3 engine.Have any imfornation?

In the new Rc Car action magazine they did a special on it. If I remember right, the jato would reach mid 60's and the 4 tech would hit 70's no prob. BUT the jato was so light in the front it would get airborn and be crazy (even more than with the 2.5) to handle. The 4tech is poop to handle in the 1st place, so I can just about imagine it with the 3.3 in it.

I don't know about the MPH part, but yes, the 3.3 will drop directly into the Jato. The question is, why? Yeah, I know because it'd be fast, but the Jato is pretty light to begin with, and with that mill, you'd be hard pressed to keep it planted to control it.

I have a RC10GT with an OS .18 CV-R in it and truthfully, I'm thinking about yanking the .18 and dropping a .12 in it so I can race it (and no, Beason, I'm not selling the mill). The .18 spins the wheels so fast I'm burning through rubber faster than 4U2NV at a whorehouse!

Insane speeds are certainly achievable in a jato with a 3.3..Wheelies and savage wheelspinnin aside,i reckon in a big carpark where you can max it out safely, with a tuned pipe and a cluthbell and spur change it will definitely rip..65 no sweat...tuned for this purpose will do it for sure...how long is a piece of string....

well that's prett dang impressive if it's possible, even 60 is impressive. I still can't imagine trying to control a stadium truck at those speeds.. wow

lol, I just got one, the phrase "stupid fast" comes to mind, and burn rubber, at any time you look at the throttle.

^ pick up the new Rc car action magazine. Thats where I saw it. I wouldnt doubt it, but like I said, I'm sure it handles like ass consider that car handles like ass with the 2.5 in it.

Also yeah a 3.3 ina jato would be pretty crazy. Put some wings on it and ya might have a sweet plane..lol

I am thinking about picking up a used Jato just to throw a 3.3 on to thrash around on the street. I wonder if it would smoke the tires down at launch :ponder:

yep, i just read today in rc car action. the jato will hit 60 mph easily, but then the wind gets under it and flips it... the 4tec will hit 70s easy (i dont know how it would be controlable... but thats what they say)

I'm putting a 3.3 in my rustler 2.5 because my 2.5r has been sitting around doing nothing for 2 years... probably beat.

i have a 18tz in my ntc3... i doubt it hits 70.... 4tech hitting 70 is crap
I think if they played with the aerodynamics and got some more downforce to help, I think it is feasible.60mph was proven but IMO there is no track for me that can llet it happen. This is more of a drag race idea. Not practical for 1/10th, 1/8th scale yes.

Hey boys, better late than never but I finally broke it in..and the verdict=insanely fast....As soon as the traxxas recommended 5 tanks was over,I put back on my motor saver and enjoyed it a lot..considering it was freezing cold at the time i had to wrap the cooling head with alfoil sandwich wrap to keep the temp at the 250 degree mark..Was real fun, can't wait to start playin with the needled now to wring out all available power.
