I thought about bringing this up not too long ago myself. I think it's a great idea hb. I think it would be a great perk for "members only" but i wonder if there are enough "members only" online at once at any given time to justify having a service as such... know what I mean? I would use it a lot I know, I jump online all the time... 5 min here 10 minutes there.. probably a dozen times a day or so. Then there's the issue of content like you mentioned. I'd guess Woodie would have to bring on like 1 or 2 more mods to cover cuz unless the live room closed at a certain point in the evening. But that would suck cuz of the time change. 800 club is 11:00 p.m. here in Ohio.. and that's nothing compared to the time diff you got... 6 hours if I remember correctly. Great idea with some wrinkles to iron out.
Hey this is my time first time I'm doing this I'm a new RC I bought a armor felony and I need to know what size battery charger that those plugs go in can anyone help me out please

David is correct. Just to add to his post though, IC5 is compatible with EC5. So any EC5 connector will plug right into an IC5.

Are you using spectrum G2 batteries? If so that is going to change some things as far as charging goes since they are proprietary and require a special charger. Do NOT charge those batteries on a regular charger, there is no way to bypass it like the Traxxas ID batteries.

The Arrma Felony stock uses IC5 connectors but they are also compatible with EC5's as well like most of Horizon's higher end RTR's. I recommend using high quality 3s batteries like GA, CNHL or SMC i wouldn't recommend Amazon special no name ones since sometimes they have false discharge rate and capacity claims. The newer Spektrum G2's are like Traxxas' ID connectors they're batteries can only be used with their chargers but any plain old EC5 batteries will work with the Felony and other models that have an IC5 plug. The only thing that makes the Spektrum batteries special is you can see the battery level on your TX if it's the DX3. Just my thoughts i wish you luck.

Traxxas batteries can be charged on other chargers, you just need adapter. They’re not “smart” in the way the Spektrum ones are. Balance leads are just built into the ID connector, other than that, they’re normal run of the mill batteries. They sell adapters that converted the ID plug to a standard connector and standard balance lead. Like this. Very common misconception that unfortunately makes people spend money unnecessarily or throw out perfectly good batteries

Spektrum batteries use a circuit board inside the battery and a communication wire from the charger. All balancing is done internally in the battery, which is why it requires a special charger. You can’t defeat this with an adapter.

I think i read something about this before, Someday i might get a Spektrum charger if i get a Mini-B or Losi Nascar although i could use the included chargers. And yeah i'll never buy Traxxas batteries i don't like that they are only 25c and all of them are soft case when even Spektrum and many other companies go from 30c to 120c.

You should really check out the battery testing thread. 90% of those claims on a lot of batteries are false. traxxas batteries are one of the few that are actually accurately rated. They’re really not bad, they’re some of the best batteries I’ve personally used. They’re just way overpriced, which completely negates how good they are since you get identical performance from much cheaper batteries. Their warranty is very good for them though. 50% off the price of a new battery once they go bad… no questions asked. Still doesn’t make the price worth it though IMO. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to go out and buy them… but if they already have them or they got them with a used RC, they’re 100% worth keeping around.

You can get around the spektrum battery limitations if you’re good at soldering and are comfortable soldering onto LiPo’s by removing the internal board and soldering balance leads directly to the battery. Maybe one day, someone will find an easy way to bypass the “smart” feature without the risk of soldering onto a live battery.

I don't have any cars that i would use Traxxas batteries since most of my cars use either QS8 V2 or IC5 connectors. Maybe your applications would work great with those batteries but i feel mine wouldn't since mine either use Spektrum ESC's or aftermarket ESC i'm not a big fan of stock Traxxas electronics i used to have their servo die on the regular and their radio glitch or go unresponsive. I use either Spektrum or Futaba gear in my cars like the DX6C or T4PM i would take either of those vs a TQI. But you do you i'll try not to judge you too much.

I have a few traxxas batteries left over from a while ago that just haven’t died yet. Otherwise I don’t plan on buying any more unless one walks into my life 😂

Like I said, I’m not trying to convince you to buy one. This is more for the new guy reading these posts who already has traxxas batteries and doesn’t want to throw them out quite yet. I can agree on the electronics… they suck. I’ve had 2 VXL 6s ESC’s and neither one lasted longer than a week of casual driving. The one in my buddies truck had a similar fate as well as a vxl 8s in a XRT. Servo’s have gotten better(still not good)… but their 1/8+ esc’s suck more than a Hoover vacuum cleaner. Not even usable IMO.

You're right on both things and although i never had any issues with their ESC's or Motors. The last stock Traxxas Esc i had left was in my X-Maxx and i recently swapped it out for a Spektrum Firma 160 v2 and it handles so much better and runs so smooth with the stock motor. I also had a Sledge which never had any issues with the stock electronics but i ended trading it since i felt i should've bought a Kraton 6s EXB. Had 3 VXL-3s all of them worked okay but i later upgraded them since i didn't the need to have an external fan and little to no programmability. Well said.

I wouldnt say the Traxxas batteries are good regardless of price. Theyre number 28 on the list. The C rating on it wasn't too blown out of proportion but the performance wasn't that good.
