hi fellow rc'rs
I'm new to this nitro rc's
I'm from south africa and i want to know if you guys could help me... i bought a 1/10 scale nitro rc not sure wich brand of engin. when i was on the coast were i bought it it started fine and ran like a dream, i played around for about 3-4 tanks. now the problem is i came back home aprox 300km from the coast inland... i have problems starting the rc and when it starts after 50 pulles maybe it starts then when i fully open the throttle for the second gear to kick in it dies... but then if i start it i insert the glow stick/starter battery one/two pulles and it starts..,. but still if i want to go fast it dies....any help would be appreciated thanx a mill....

As far as starting, make sure you prime it to get your fuel line full to the carb. Put your finger over the exhaust and pull it several times to fill the line before you try to start it. The engine falling off when it shifts to 2nd sounds like it's not getting enough fuel. Start opening up your high speed needle about 1/8 turn at a time and see if that helps.

Thanks alot guys i will try your advice anr repost what ever happend.

Did you break in the motor? Sounds either to me your not primed as mentioned above along with tune being off or if you did not do a break in process your piston may already be fried.

Also keep in mind that there may have been a change in elevation, sea level vs. your current spot. Also humidity levels will probably change as you go inland. These factors will affect tune and will require retuning when moving to and from the coast.
