I need some help figuring this out. I put weight on my scx10ii and went to a smaller pinion gear and twice in two days I've smoked my motors. I dropped to a 14 tooth pinion from 17 and the performance was good it smoked the motor after just about 20 minutes of crawling. Before the weight and pinion change it would crawl for hours on 3s and not break a sweat. I added a 333 gram brass set I got from Amazon and when I did the weight out of the box it showed 364 grams. I installed the whole set and when it doesn't smoke the motor it crawls amazingly. Any suggestions. I was running a 19 turn injora crawler motor and then a 16 turn reedy crawler motor. Any help would be appreciated

I've used Amazon brass and it's hit and miss. So I'm not surprised it's +30g. I had some that didn't even fit right. You might check for any binding in the drive train. Pull the motor spin the wheels and see how it feels. If something is binding can will burn up your motor pretty quick.

Even without binding it happens. I smoked my stock TRX-4 Motor, oops. It seemed find then the smoke came out. It was very hot. Did you check the temp? If you can't touch it, it needs a break.

If you are running brushed motor you might look at Holmes Hobbies. They have very affordable motors or very fancy ones depends on what you like. They have a recommendation list (Below) and if send them an email and you tell them about your rig, they can be very specific.

For what it's worth I went to the HW Fusion Pro. It's bit pricey but amazing.

Quick run fusion pro for the win!
It's the best crawler motor I've had and the only one I'll buy in the future.
You won't be able find anyone who is DISSATISFIED with their fusion pro.
It's got the slowest crawl and good pep for the trails in between obstacles
