RC Driving Style
Hey Guys,

Its been a while since I've posted a thread. I just decided to unbury my Savage and go to the LHS to get it fixed.

After returning home I noticed that the truck does not start easy ( just installed new pull start)....and my aching fingers are killing me. I had a roto start on the motor ( picc .26) and after 10 one way bearing sand other issues decided to go back to old faithful. Now it takes me fifteen minutes to get it started if it does at all. Any suggestions. Bad fuel..no fuel ...its driving me crazy.

First, check your glow plug and ignitor. Make sure it glows brightly. Make sure you have fresh fuel.
It's cold where you are. Heat up the engine with a hair dryer before starting it.

Have to wait til the weather warms up & Get the old fuel out. I know how u feel, I can't wait to get my nitro's going. So go electric!

Just ran my rc10gt for the first time this year! Holy cow, i forgot how fast that thing was... old really does not help the starting situation, and neither does the cold weather.

once the engine is warmed up (220) should it start easily even if it is cold outside?

rolex gave very good points the hair dryer helps you should heat up the engine and the air filter and all the engine components. Check and charge ur glow igniter. wear gloves to protect ur hands from blisters and prime the exhaust about 10-20 pulls. Be patient and have fun, good luck.

Yes he did, but when running in very cold conditions such as low 30 degrees with high winds make it feel much colder and what fun are u having when u have to keep re-tuning it while it keeps shutting off constantly because it's too cold.

Well I broke the pull start..again...replaced it w/ the roto start back plate I had lying around. Got it started ,but its too damn cold outside....had some pretty hairy jumps off snow plow piles though. It was well worth the possible frost bite and pnemonia.
