I ordered my first 2 lipo batteries yesterday. When i was shopping around i saw hard cases and soft cases. I ordered 2 soft shell batteries for my x maxx because I was wanting to make sure they fit in the trey. Anyway i want to know your opinions, pros cons on both.

Soft case will be fine, just look after them as they’re more susceptible to damage. You pointed out a benefit the soft case, the ability fit more battery into more spaces. Again, if you look after them they’ll be fine, there isn’t any reason to use a hard case for bashing if you secure them well.

I would probably cushion the soft case with the foam they are shipped with, just so nothing is rubbing into the battery’s casing. Just a piece of the soft foam the size of the battery.

The way the batteries are in the X Maxx I think I would have alot of other things to deal with also if the batteries came loose.

I have both. The hardcase, IMO, is the way to go, longevity wise, but it costs a little more, & are slightly larger case size. I've found some 0.03" thick PVC roll to use as additional protection & helps keep the softcase from moving. So the slightly larger hardcase doesn't move as much & still fit my battery compartments & last longer. So the additional cost of the PVC roll & the softcase will get beat up a little, the hardcase in the long run is the way to go. I have one 6s softcase that took a grind spot from a spur gear, still working, but I always make sure it's good and secure. Nothing wrong with the softcase, just keep an eye on it.

Thank you, I saw a 10,000 MAH hard case battery on Amazon but it was $225ish. I’ll keep looking. I don’t really plan on jumping it like they do in the YouTube videos. I have some stuff at work that is kinda like a scotch bright pad but softer. I might try it. We use it to hide speakers behind.

Ec5 or XT60. I ordered an adapter for ec5. The charger I plan to buy is xt60. And 4S need 2 to run x maxx.

It seems like xt60 is a little more rare with the batteries?
