I'm couldn't be happier with it, it's my first Futaba ground system. And I stand corrected, the aircraft system is total time since creating that model memory slot, unless you clear it.

This is mine, the M11. Can't ask for anything better.

dang it looks like you have to be a rocket scientist to control that thing unfortunately I am NOT nowhere near on that level lol

and what are you sick or something are you wearing pants? not one hint of chrome or wax on it.

I'm sorry, man. That's just a stock picture of it. Mine is locked in an airtight, dust proof, fireproof safe. :D
EVERYTHING on that is adjustable physically, as in left or right hand, raised or lowered console for big or small hands, and once you get familiar with the navigation its menus are adjustable on the fly. It even has a button on it that allows you to set the higher idle just for starting and warm up. Click it and it goes to the normal idle.
It started out as the FM model and then I was able to change the module to 2.4.

And it has those special foam grips that work well with his velcro gloves. =devil

The M11 is a nice radio.

That M11 is a nice radio for sure, but the price of RX's killed it for me, much like Futaba in the past. $45 is reasonable to me, $90 is not.

90 clams for RX? No thanks, maybe just maybe when i get in to racing real hard then ill think about spending that much. The idle adjustment will be a hook for me.

So how much is that rent?

Mine's faster since it's the lightweight version :D
I LAWL'd!!!

Man the 4PLS is gonna be freakin sweet! I have a 4Pl and I absolutely love that radio. The 4PLS has telemetry capability and I heard that it actually works fairly good. Thats what someone told me anyway.

I hate both you guys btw, I only have 1600mah LiFes in mine Q_Q

Thanks greywolf, I'm super happy with it. My one complaint, the trigger is a bit tight for me as far as how close the reverse / brake trigger is. May mod it one day, but I'm not tearing it apart yet. I think it's finally time to charge it for racing tomorrow also, it's down to 6V. Six weeks on a charge is pretty good I'd say. :D

Well, I have a huge complaint with the Futaba. I haven't been thrilled with the little thumb joystick they use for menu navigation since day one, as it's very easy to accidentally select something you didn't want. Individual R,L,U,D pads with a center enter key would have been much more accurate. And that very thing bit me today, big time. I was changing models from the SC truck to the Wraith, and accidentally selected copy rather than select (why they're right next to each other in the menu given the clunky joystick to navigate is beyond me) and it was too late, I had already pressed copy and it erased the setup for the Wraith completely. It will take me a while to fix, as the RX is buried in the Wraith meaning I have to take the truck partially apart, and all 4 channels are being used and have to be re-programmed. There is no warning that you are about to overwrite another model slot either, it simply copies over with no asking for confirmation at all.

TLDR: MAKE SURE you make a copy of every model to another slot on your 4PLS just in case you get bit by the horrible joystick UI.

You get what you pay for. :D I paid for the best I could find. :)

When I wanted to upgrade my ground radio, the recommendation for this one came from FastEddy.
If it was HIS choice, I knew I couldn't do better.

Like I've said already in this thread, the M11 is nice, but there's no way I'm paying what they want for extra RX's, nor the $550 buy in (when they were new). The Futaba is known to be a great, solid radio, I just prefer buttons rather than the jog stick, lots of guys love it though. It's not like I bought a $30 radio or something. :ahem: :) I will just make sure to make backup copies of all my models into another slot in the future, and it won't happen again.

I raced with a m11 at the track before i bought my futaba, i have to say, i didnt like it, the steering wheel was way to hard to turn and the trigger motion sucked, granted it was an older m11, but that threw me from them, he was always having promblems linking his rx's as well, too many buttons, and too much cash for me to even think about buying one. If i did buy one, it would be like Rolex's locked in a cabinet somewhere with all zero's on the timer :D

Lmao!
Actually, the steering tension is also adjustable. Never had a problem linking a Rx and I think I have done it with 5 or 6 already. Trigger action is smooth as silk. Of course, just like everything else I have, I have to adjust absolutely EVERYTHING on it just to get familiar with it and get the maximum enjoyment out of it.

I have 15 minutes, 42 seconds on my up time, and I recently set up another Rx for one of the 1/5 scale bikes.

^^ I think I found my new bearing/hardware supplier.

While I was in putting my name on a axial SCX-10 G6, my supplier offered me one of these, simply cause I asked about a futaba radio: http://www.futaba-rc.com/systems/futk4903-4pksr/index.html

Hey Rolex what are the selling points to the M11, more to the point what convinced you to go with airtronics? Besides a FastEddy recommendation.

Picking a radio is a matter of personal preference. They can all do what you need them to do. But one will fit your hand better and feel better than another. I've been using Airtronics since the early 80's and have never had one disappoint me or fail. I currently run a MT-4 with a Grid drop down and it fits me perfectly and does everything I need it to do. BUT....that doesn't mean Futaba, Spektrum, etc won't be equally as good. I personally don't like how those radios feel in my hand. But they may be perfect for you. Check out the interface on each, how the menus work and how they feel in your hand. You will like one of them more than the others.
