Yessir-exactly what we wanted to see. So what had ya thinking it may have been too long? Difficult to rotate the motor beyond TDC (top dead center)? Like it was being limited from doing so, mechanically?

Maybe so good sir and a clack like the plug was hitting the head but it could be the roto start I'm using but now i know the plug is good so I'm not even gonna trip when i get it fired up i rec it and post it shes mean

Appreciate that guess I'm gonna have to disassemble it and turn it i think this engine has been broke in and thats it or maybe they did a repinch idk but ill fix that issue now tho
Nows shes good to go the only other way the head can go with the slot being open for air like it should be

Tenfo. How many shims were in there? Likely still has metal pinch is all. Just wanna verify that it’s got enough clearance as someone was obviously in there before you with the head being sideways on the motor. I don’t see any witness marks on the button from the piston, but ya wanna be sure.

There were no copper shims in between the block or the head

Oh man…. yessir-you definitely need at LEAST one in there to keep it sealed up if nothing else. Are you absolutely positive that there isn’t a single aluminum shim simply stuck to the button? They blend right into the machined surface like you wouldn’t believe..

Nothing came off or fell off when i pulled the head and button

YIKES. Yeah-you wanna get some. You’re gonna need to check your piston-to-head button clearance as well, in order to determine the correct stack height. You happen to have any 0.8-1.1mm solder on hand? 😅🤷🏻‍♂️

So it was copper or brass colored and just 1
