Hello
Was wondering what everyone is using to grease the portal axles and transmission on the TRX4. Also how complicated is it to disassemble the transmission.
Many thanks

I dint have a traxxas crawler yet but I use purple or red and tacky grease. Because of the long drives and elements in my driving spots I usually pack my axial full. The tranny shouldn't be too hard. Below is exploded views on it. Youtube should also have a video.

I actually used Super Tech Marine grease just in case I get in water again. Was just curious what others have done.

I use proline black Grease with my Trx4 and the transmission is easy to disassemble as long as you remember where everything was. I think I misplaced a spacer and now it squeaks in reverse. I need to tear mine apart again and replace some bearings too. Good luck

I started to disassemble it noticed there was some very thin shims between the bearings and the gears. Got scared and put it back together lol

A hobby shop will cost probably $60 atleast. A new tranny is over 100. With that said greasing it up now or fixing it yourself will be pennies compared to that. Look at the exploded views i linked. As you take it apart, have a clean organized area and take photos so you remember how to reassemble it.
