By "servo test" you mean plugging the ESC into channel 1 on the receiver?
FS-GR3E receivers were all I ever used with Hobbywing EZRun & Quicrun speed controls.
I’m currently having that same issue on my Hobbywing 8BL150 G2 with the flysky GT3B and I think the receiver is GR3E. Doesn’t calibrate, but other remotes and receivers do.

Odd.. I haven't a G2, but my bro has a couple, Max 6 and 8's. I believe he is using a Radio Link though.. Huh, IDK what's going on there.. really doesn't make sense.
You're sure the plug is installed correctly? I know it sounds silly, but I have plugged the esc in backwards before.. no workie.

The ESC needs to be calibrated using your throttle because the ESC has no idea what the signal ranges are for your radio. The steering is calibrated with endpoint adjustments and trim.

I get that. That came out different than I wanted it to. I meant that the ESC and radio will not let me calibrate it when it is plugged into channel 2 on the receiver but I have steering. But, If I plug in the ESC wire to the Channel 1 (steering port) it lets me calibrate it with the steering wheel. I completely reset the radio to factory settings and rebounded the receiver, but it still doesn't let me calibrate it with the throttle channel. The Esc blinks red like it isn't getting a signal. Is my throttle channel dead on the receiver? Because when I plug the servo into the throttle channel, it doesn't turn either. The receiver is still getting power from the ESC though. I tried it on another remote and receiver and it worked for a little while then stopped. I tried one last radio and that seems to work with no issues but I only drove it for like 2 minutes. The second remote and receiver set wouldn't let me calibrate after a while. What would happen is I would be driving it and I gave it a full throttle blip and it lost all response. When I went to check on the car, the receiver was blinking red. When I plugged that remote and receiver back into my dad's crawler, it worked with no issues whatsoever. If the batteries matter, I was using a CNHL 6600 MAH 120C 3s lipo that is from the racing series.

The whole swapping Ch.1/Ch.2 inputs (ESC into Ch.1 and Servo into Ch.2) on the receiver is just a transmitter & receiver diagnosing thing @Lukedavis was doing.
