I recently purchase the Flysky FS-GT3C works great with Spektrum ESC but will not Calibrate to Hobbywing Fusion SE or Hobbyrun Quickrun ESCs. I read somewhere the newer Flysky receivers have a compatibility issue. Throttle does not work even with the "servo test"

Does anyone know if there is a work around or which Flysky receivers work with Hobbywing ESCs. Or is this not an actual problem and instead my transmitter is setup wrong?

Again no issues with the transmitter and Spektrum ESCs

Rebind the Tx to the Rx? Try holding the radio a little farther away. I've not heard of compatability issues between the two brands, so I would be curious to see what the solution ends up being.

What receiver are you using?

I use the GT3B with all kinds of esc's. HW, Firma, VXL, Hobao, Redcat.. only one that ever gave me trouble calibrating was the VXL. I did get it figured, but can't remeber what I done to do so.. been a minute.
Are you sure expo should be zero? For some reason I'm thinking it should be at 100%.

You have steering?

ALWAYS try reversing throttle first if calibration doesn't work.
Plausible, never experienced it, but maybe. Still thinking expo should 100%. I usually start pushing buttons and turning dials when things don't work. If all else fails, try instructions. LOL

Instructions only after I've watched every YouTube video ever posted that might be relevant. Reading the instructions is for people who used to pull over and ask for directions. I will definitely try EXPO 100% as well.

I've tried everything this receiver does not work on the Hobbywing Fusion SE. I've thrown a Spektrum receiver in with no problem. When you try to Calibrate it doesn't even acknowledge the "Neutral" button press. No green flash nothing.

Wonder if there is some way to alter the PWM signal. Like with something like this.

I've never used anything like this, and I don't really even know what that does, but if the HW stuff isn't recognizing the output signal of the Rx, maybe it's not getting the PWM signal range it is designed for. 🤷‍♂️

Just throwing darts.

You're playing chess while I'm playing shoots and ladders!

I got frustrated and stole a reciever transmitter set out of another one of my Amazon RTRs and it work great.

Some guys smarter than me should be along to maybe explain that. I would be really curious to know if there is a fix, and what that fix is.

@Jerold seems to be very fluent with electronicals 😝

Maybe he might have some idea what may be causing this?

I've been thinking about this and I wonder if there isn't some interference with whatever frequency your Flysky is using. I would think it has to be that or the PWM signal range.

Maybe this is where an Oscilloscope would come in handy?

The whole thing is weird. I know for a fact that gt3c works with brushed HW ESCs. And have NEVER heard of a run-of-the-mill radio and ESC not being compatible.

I agree, it's weird. I've never had an ESC not respond to Rx signal either, or ever heard of it happening.

It should work AFAK. I've seen lots of crawlers with HW running gear and FS radio. It's a pretty common setup. The difference is most of them use the FS-GT5.

Does the servo work?

It seems silly but make sure the receiver is bound to the transmitter and the bind plug is removed. I've seen this before where someone left the bind plug in and it was dead. Again I'm sure you checked but I have to ask, people forget it happens.

If that's all correct, the first thing I would do is isolate the RX and ESC. Remove any servos and aux channels. If something is connected backwards the ESC it will mess up everything on the RX. Double check the polarity of the cables too.

Make sure you ESC BEC voltage is set within the RX spec. The GR3E is good for 4.0-6.5V. If it's too high you can damage the RX (worst case). Best case is it just shuts down.

Something else to look at is the motor direction on the ESC. If it's not in the default state it may not calibrate. I had this happen before with a RadioLink/Castle setup. The ESC was set to reverse radio was set to normal. I reset the ESC to normal and it calibrated.
